Just Going To Drop This Epic-ness Here....

I was talking to a friend (who I ended up completely destroying, btw) about why I think Elite: Dangerous mops the floor with Eve:Online.

We somehow got into discussing the largest ships in the each game and we both went off looking for material online to show each other in order to back up our claims. In that search, I stumbled across this video and I thought it was simply too awesome not to share it with people who might not have seen it.

Enjoy!

Nice find.

PS.
I wonder if the CapShips have Point defenses?

Just imagine how the scene would look if you had one of those Conflict Zone Cobra NPCs dumping a whole load of Mines in the vicinity and like 50 Point Defenses going crazy about them :D

Not going to get involved in your and your friends eve/ed discussion, apples and oranges in my book. :)

Just a vid that illustrates eve ship sizes in an interesting way i thought. How that compares to ED capital ships i couldn't say. I don't think it matters much either, the cap ships look impressing in both games.:)

10:45: Titans (biggest vessels in Eve)

12:17 Titans over NYC

Has nothing changed in 3800 odd years? This how the used to battle in ye olde sail ships HMS Victory at the battle of Trafalgar. Go along side each other and see who has the biggest most cannons!!

The biggest Ships in Elite are only 2km long while the Titans of EvE are so big they could ram one of our Starports without even realising it O:

Yeah, just going off the shot at 11:07 with the jumbo jet and another Elite Dangerous video I saw with an Anaconda on a aircraft carrier: the Eve titans are orders of magnitude bigger than even our space stations.

I played EVE for a long time, loved a lot my time there but ultimately it's only because of the social side of the game. Basically if you involved in high impact pvp whether it's small gang up to massive fleets you feel like brothers in arms. The games are completely different apart from being set in space.

The reason why eve comes off well in media is simply that the corporations in EVE are very used to propaganda, with flashy video's and amazing long stories of creation and destruction. The truth is day to day it's quiet and uninspiring once played for a while unless you put a colossal social and work life destroying amount of work into it.

Heh this is my first post, Hi all o/
