Just got done with the Claire's Sanctuary DLC

I finished the Secret's of Dr. Wu DLC the other day. That fourth mission on the Tacano research facility was a killer. lol It was super annoying. I five starred the island though.

I did the final mission for the sanctuary DLC the other night and spent last night try to get five stars on the island. Man that was really annoying. No I didn't manually cure all the dinosaurs for the achievements cause I am not insane. lol

The opening part on Nublar wasn't bad, a bit annoying. But it got really annoying on the sanctuary island. The biggest issue I have is how they basically stripped you of everything and you have start all over again. I know, that's the whole point. But it's still annoying. I had to research a lot of stuff all over again. Then they limit the amount of Dinosaurs you have. It all just seemed like a cheap way to make the whole experience difficult. I believe it's called artificial difficulty. I ended up with 3 Rexes, 4 Carnotaurus and 4 Albertosaurus in my park cause I simply didn't have enough high rated dinosaurs to actually build a decent park with. I spent a lot of my time worrying about the dinosaur variety rating and it was a waste of time. All I had to do was genetically modify some carnivores to higher ratings and spam them.

I didn't care for the Sanctuary DLC much. I found the artificial difficulty used to pad out the DLC to be annoying. I also found the paleobotany to be a bit of an annoyance. I am glad it's over. lol

I guess I will start on the JP DLC some time to day. I hope it's more fun than the Sanctuary DLC.

JP Dlc is way better. It's very easy doing everything manually as far as rangers go. But everything looks so much better and the dialogue and story is so much better you wont mind how easy it is. I still have to complete some division rep unlocks. But I've barely touched half the new skins, haven't touched the trees or all the signs yet. I haven't even unlocked the heavy fence. But im having fun and dont mind needing to still unlock things.

Curing the dinos manually on the Claire DLC actually wasn't that big a pain. Though that might have changed now that the dinosaurs can fight back. Then again, it might make it more interesting as well.

The second island on the Claire DLC can be a bit of a chore. It kinda depends on what dinosaurs you choose to save. Some dinosaurs are better to have on the second island than others. And it's best to have as many different ones as possible as it expands the roster on the second island. The problem is that this consequence isn't made clear on the first island very well. Someone can make a choice and end up with a really annoying roster on the second island without the possibility to change it.

But hey, even if you weren't a big fan of the DLC campaigns, you do get a bunch of cool new dinosaurs, buildings and genes.

In regards to the DLCs for me, personally, I only had two problems each, and all that I’ve conquered.

In the Dr. Wu DLC, the only major problems I had were the Troodons constantly escaping because I wasn’t careful with their social meters, especially since I house four of them with a couple of Dreadnoughtus and an Ankylosaurus, to the point where the anky can no longer have any more dinosaurs together. And then, of course, the Spinoraptor mission where you have to kill it with other dinosaurs. First attempt on that mission was annoying for me, but after learning what to do, I restarted the mission from my last manual save and completed that part it in less than three minutes.

On Sanctuary, I had the Stegosaurus as one of my early rescued dinosaur species, and I didn’t have enough money to incubate so many diverse individuals at once. After a couple of reloading save attempts, I managed myself to not make their happiness go to the red zone. And lastly, the Paleobotany was only a pain on starting mission attempts because I wasn’t sure how to properly switch and change a paleo feeder’s stock without defeating the feeders and place new ones.

I tried curing some of them and it was just took way too long. The sauropods were easy but the smaller ones and any that would run was just way too much work. Originally I planned to cure them all and get the achievement but I changed my mind pretty quickly.

I had already seen people playing the sanctuary DLC on Youtube. I decided to go with Dinosaurs that had a low social requirement. I rescued 2 Corythosaurs, 2 Ankylosaurs, 2 Triceratops and I took two carnivores, the Carnotaurus and the Albertosaurus. Thankfully they let you have some other dinosaurs later on and I did the mission to get the Rex unlocked for Sanctuary. I guess I could have taken some of the sauropods but I didn't.

The way I handled the Spinoraptor mission was I just made enclosure with double electric concrete walls and if the Spinoraptor attacked the fence I would just build more wall before it broke through. I didn't find it that hard though. I made the fourth mission a little hard on myself though. I found it's easier to just put all the dinosaurs you have to get a combat infamy rating for in separate enclosures.

Yeah, the Sanctuary DLC is my least favorite of the story DLCs; too hard and frustrating, especially with the stupid inclusion of the Hammond Foundation Fee in it. But against all odds, I managed to complete it.

But with the final Wu mission, I just kept the three hybrids in different enclosures, and fed them unmodified Parasaurolophus until they reached at least 100 in Combat Infamy. The Spinoraptor one caused me a bit of trouble though, although I ended up killing it with a roided-up Iguanodon whom I named Aladar

jp dlc wins just because of nostalgia by far best dlc the game received
Definitely, especially because of the return of Sam Neill and Laura Dern as Dr. Grant and Sattler, in addition to Goldblum as Malcolm. The guy they used for Hammond was good too; he “spared no expense” in his Richard Attenborough impression

The thing that got me with the sanctuary DLC was I was taking my time with it and my rescue dinos (because I was stupid and brought some gallimimus with me) started to die of old age which caused instant failure of the whole campaign. They should have let you know when you're choosing which dinos to rescue that you're actually setting a timer for yourself based on their lifespan. Or made it so old age was the only cause of death that didn't cause a failure. I only played through it once, right when it came out. Just to unlock the new stuff for the rest of the game. Got all the achievements for it too. Was madening at the time. Thought I'd try it again a little while ago thinking itd be easier because I know how the game works better now and also I didn't need to worry about the achievements this time around. Forgot about the vehicle destruction being a thing now. lol I gave up before reaching sanctuary. I do so very much though wish they'd make a unique building model for the operations center instead of using the security center. It irks me so much.
