Just had the most fun ever

Just got into the piracy business the other day, just for fun.
Went to Persephone to grab some CMDR's cargo for the CG and told a friend about how fun that was. He logged in today to try it too. Oddly enough, there were no more asps, type6s or type7s flying around anymore. The only CMDR I saw was in a Python and he was Expert, I think. So I had the brilliant idea of interdicting him, thinking: "well... I can't fight this guy in my ASP if things go south, but my friend is right behind me in a Clipper... well...lets see how it unfolds"

As we drop into normal space:
me: scanning...
him: ...
me: (he had nothing) ok, ure free to go

Couple seconds later he's suddenly in a 4/4 wing and his friends show up: a python, a Clipper, a Conda and I don't remember the 4th member

I tried flying away but was fried in a minute. I had a blast! (pun intended)
My friend was able to escape with 50% hull

Paid my insurance and went back to Persephone and there they were again, they interdicted me and I made a run for it. They even jumped from system to system and intd me a couple more times, demanding I apologize. I just said "later" and jumped.

Even though I got my kicked, that was loads of fun! Dunno whats gonna happen now, I bet they'll be looking for me for the next few days

Demanded you apologize for what, playing the game how it's supposed to be played?

People and their fevered egos tainting the collective unconscious.

A player telling another player "Ok, you're free to go", as if they're some kind of authority over what you can and can't do, that's pretty patronizing to a lot of people. Probably doubly so if the person lording it over is a pipsqueak in comparison. I suspect if words had been chosen more carefully, the interdiction would be water under the bridge. Or maybe they just latched onto the hunt because it was fun to have a crafty quarry, and demands for an apology were a way to keep it going and add a "say uncle" win condition. Either way, it sounds like good fun was had all around! :D

They probably wanted to scare you off from interdicting their buddy again the future. At this point in Persephone's CG, lightweight transport already left, it's the heavier ones now since practically every resource is drained within 20 LY.

Doesn't it tell you if a player is in a wing??

That is funny and you now see why pirates use big ships and hunt in packs..

Conducting Piracy in the heart of Imperial space during a CG is not for the faint of heart, we protect our own.

I'm glad you had fun though, it's this kind of player interaction that makes ED shine.

They Python would have been baiting, the rest of Wing would be close by and reform when the bait was interdicted.

I doubt they meant that in a serious way, more of a "you have besmirched my honor, have at thee!" kind of way ;)

Sounds fun. To inderdict someone do you need the fsd scanner too? Do you do it in hyperspace or normal space? Its a part of the game I haven't tried yet.

You need a Frame Shift Drive Interdictor. You do it in supercruise. Just get behind the target and fire it up

Gotta disagree. Happily dragging stuff to Persephone in my unsheilded 128T Asp. Only 990 Tons in and in top 40%!!!!!

Aye, he said, sucking on his pipe ... I remember the good old days, before Wings, when them baddies were loners, if interdicted it gave you a chance to fight or run, now they come in packs, 4 big warships against 1 little trader, very brave of them ...

Tough luck Mr Pirate

Some of us traders have had enough of your antics in stealing our cargos and decided to fight back.

But then thats the risk you take when trying to steal stuff.... that innocent looking T7 may have big nasty friends with sharp pointy teeth just waiting to pounce and turn you into space dust.
