Just how big is the sandbox map?

Hi,

As the title suggests, how large is the sandbox map? The game has a base 80 animals plus the DLC takes it up to around 100(or so)?

Is the map comfortably large enough to have large enclosures and space between them for all animals?

It will be impressive if you manage to fill the entire map with habitats and animals without running into FPS issues.

I guess it's possible, if your pc is up to the task.

Yeah, big enough for all animals incl. dlc animals or alternatively 5 polar bear habitats.

Just an insider joke. But LN is right, FPS willd rop if you use the whole map. Animal space wise it is big enough.

As you can see in the picture below, there is plenty of space for all animals. This Zoo contains more than 80 and there is still plenty of room left and some habitats are massive.

The South American tropical rainforest map is much smaller than normal however. I believe the Australian desert map is the same as a normal size map though.

Definitely big enough - I know that's already been answered but throwing in my own example - one of my franchise zoos has 40 habitats all of good size for the animals, including a polar habitat (that's about 10% of the used space). Total that's about about 30-40% of the map. IF your computer is up to it, the map size should have no problem having 100 habitats with adequate size for the animals, maybe stretching to 125 habitats. Of course we don't have that many different species as yet, but hopefully there will be eventually.

I should not though as far as performance, my game starts to have lag after about 30 habitats, in general. So realistically, even though there's space, computer performance or game engine performance won't be up to it.
