So I was hunting in my usual hunting grounds when lo-and-behold, a wanted Anaconda shows up. It wasn't the biggest fish in the pond, worth something just shy of 65k, but definitely a target to go after. Unfortunately, he shot my shields to crap and an unfortunate dumb boost slammed me right into his hull. Canopy broke, hull down to 30% and he was down to 16%. 5 minutes of life support... run and live or keep at him and hope I destroy him before my air runs out? I opted for the latter and I'll leave you with a little picture story of my trip back to the station.

the exact same thing happened to me the other day but....

Where my screen was cracked no HUD showed, how is it you still have HUD in the areas of missing screen???

I didn't see my targeting reticles when my canopy cracked, but I never lost any other parts of my HUD. I thought it always like that.

When I jumped to SuperCruise I couldn't see my target destination, orbital rings or the first two thirds of the words "Oxygen Depleted" wherever the screen was missing, I had to use the side windows to judge my approach and then turn in at the last moment.

Yeah you might be right. I never actually cared about my life support because until now, I never needed it. But this was a very scary reminder that you can't take anything for granted out in space :)

Happened to me, got interdicted twice on the way to station and died about 5 meters from the toaster.
I actually laughed out loud, my heart was racing like crazy, it was fun.

Heh, yeah I was actually kicking myself that I wasn't recording this. I thought about firing up FRAPS when I first saw the Anaconda, but couldn't be bothered. And at first I thought I would reach the station with plenty of time to spare, but when it got down to 1 minute I really needed to start taking screenshots to relive the moment :)
