I had the same thing, since I have the saitek pro pedals, they come with a foot rest and screw sized holes on each end. What I did was take some 2x4 and cut them to the length I measured between the wheels of my chair and where my feet sit on the pedals (actually slightly larger). Then I screwed the pedal onto the 2x4, the left holes on one, and the right holes on the other. Then at the other end I notched out enough room for one wheel one each side. Now I hook my chair into the 2x4s when I want to fly and I can push to my hearts content without the pedals sliding as they are hooked to my chair. It works great.Enjoy the Warthog! I'm kind of tempted myself
Rudder pedals I find awkward - they slide everywhere on my carpet no matter what I try - Velcro, carpet strip, still slides.
I suspect the OP is like me and has been using stick twist for so long that adapting to rudder pedals would take a while. I'm sure they are awesome once you are used to them but at least for this ol' geezer the old dog would take a while learning the new trick.
If/When I can justify the budget for a Warthog stick, I'll probably suck it up and force myself to adapt to pedals, but for now I'll stick to twisting the stick. It's not like the ED ships are so agile in the yaw axis that having really good control over it is so essential...
