Just ordered CH pro throttle... to get CH Fighter stick or not

I've been enjoying my PT/FS setup for a while now. There's really nothing comparable to the throttle. The stick is amazing too, although I also would empty my wallet as fast as humanly possible for a CH product with twist yaw.

I do have a T16000M on the way and am looking forward to experimenting with PT/TM to compare stick action, and also dual-sticking a FS/TM setup just for the sheer battlezone joy of dual triggers.

I've been using the T 16000 M for most of my combat sims and love it. I also have the CH Flight yoke, throttle quadrant, and rudder pedals which I used in my FS2004/FSX days, and I can attest to CH's quality.

However, I too was looking for a throttle with a decent button layout. CH's offering was way more than I wanted to spend, may as well get the X-55. What I found was the T Flight X HOTAS. It's throttle has a great layout, and only costs $45. I'm using it along side my T 16000 M. And if that goes I have a backup stick with the T Flight.

I currently own a T-Flight HOTAS X, and even though I like it for playing ED, the buttons on the throttle are already becoming very unresponsive (bought it in January this year). This seems to be a common problem, so now I'm thinking about going for the CH Pro Throttle + TM T.16000M too.

Still have one question on the Pro Throttle though. I read somewhere that it doesn't have a detent in the middle. This seems like a possible disadvantage to me, since I use reverse thrust quite a lot and would like to have some feedback when I'm in the dead zone. Do any Pro Throttle owners recognize this and/or is there a workaround for it?

I have the CH Throttle and the CH Fighter Stick and I do not regret buying them. The build quality is excellent, there are plenty of button and hat options and they just feel right 8)
Buy with confidence, commander!

<Ahem> me..... I just broke down and ordered a full CH products HOTAS setup including rudder paddles. Argh, I hope its worth it. $520 CAD totally :(

I better put in some extra hours at work.

I have that setup and at first I had some serious buyers remorse but then I really started putting time into playing the game with that full setup and trust me, you will not regret it. :)

I know you don't want to hear this just now but I predict your next big purchase will be a VR setup. I say this because, once you have the CH products properly configured, you will never touch your keyboard again (which makes VR plausible).

Good luck and have fun with your new awesomeness!

The CH pro does not have a middle detent. The work around involves about 5 minutes and some velcro. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9hrPOLnmkXE

I've read non-stop for like 3 days about flight sticks, HOTAS, elite. I was first thinking about getting the x52 pro... then the x55... then even contemplated the warthog.

I currently have a logitech extreme 3d pro and it seems like a pretty nice stick, but its the only one I've ever used. I decided I need a throttle at least and settled on the CH pro throttle.

Now I feel like I should buy the CH fighter stick as well but the lack of twist makes me hesitate. I just don't want to get CH peddles right now for another $160 CAD.

So what do you guys think I should do.

CH throttle + Logitech extreme 3d pro
CH throttle + TM 16000m
CH throttle + Fighterstick + bind yaw to a HAT on the stick.
CH throttle + Fighterstick + CH pro peddles.

Thanks for your input ;) !
I have the warthog throttle and flight stick. It is fantastic. The warthog really is just a piece of artwork, and has an amazing feel. I went for months without peddles, and ended up binding yaw to one of the hats on the throttle. It works amazingly well. I bought a set of crosswind pedals, and find myself constantly going back to the hat for yaw... not that the pedals are more difficult, but the hat is just far more intuitive. And lets be honest, pedals are from a day when controls were connected by cables, I find it highly unlikely that thousands of years in the future we'd still be using them..
.
anyway, my advice is get the best stick you can, and not worry about ythe pedals for now -- one of the hats on the throttle will work amazingly well. you can always buy pedals later on -- anything less than crosswinds are really not terribly priced.
.
oh, and I'm not a fan of the twisty-throttle stick. I've tried them, and found the hat to be far more accurate and intuitive to use. but that's just me. and if you already have the warthog throttle, your hand is always going to be there anyway...
