Just played Lucky's Tale on my DK2 : Again WOW, amazing quality

Ok 1st let me point out that I have modified my DK2 with a screen protector on the screen that helps eliminate the SDE, but does give a slight reduction in quality as you get a matt effect. But is truly worth it.

So as a Pre-order member for CV1, I have access to Lucky's Tale on the Oculus store. Even though it says it is not compatible, it works perfectly on the DK2 and let me tell you, it is crystal clear, smooth as butter and to be honest I have no idea how the CV1 will beat this. It really couldn't get any better. Perhaps it is the bright colours on the game that do it, but it really is THAT good.

This also matches my experience with ED on 1.3 and the DK2. Absolutely perfect experience and it leaves me wondering, do I really need the CV1 ?

Yeah right, of course I do as it is new and cool. But seriously, the 1.3 runtime from Oculus is mind blowing and that good.

My Specs

DK2 and Runtime 1.3
Windows 10 64bit
GTX 980 with no overclock
Intel 5960 o/c to 4.6Ghz
32GB 2666 RAM

From a thread I made on it ages ago

Well, looks like I have gotten of the screen door effect SDE on my Rift with the compromise of a little bit of clarity.
First took the rift apart, fairly easy and follow this website

This Link for Tear Down

Underneath it is just a Samsung Note 3 screen and so I put one of these on it.

Ebay Link to a screen protector

I used some alcohol to help clean and put the cover on the screen and put the whole lot back together. It took about 30mins all in all and of course can be removed as not permanent.

The results, well the SDE is gone. Replaced with a fine pattern that is not as noticable as you are looking at the protector quite close up. A slight loose in clarity, but overall, it works for me and will be staying in place.

For me it works and cost less than £2 delivered.
