Just purchased/paving is beyond frustrating!!!

What issues are you having with it? This alpha is far better then alpha 1...

Oh and welcome to PC!

I mean it... really depends what you're trying to do with it, I think you should deffo check out a few tutorials or ask for help and stuff though.

I realize I'm new but for heaven's sake, paving system makes me want to rip my hair out of my roots!!!
Hummmm ...

Few little things are missing with the path system (new textures, the option for the curbs of the naturals paths, the option to choose between rounded edges and square edges, etc...)
But ... create a path is easy as pie.

So, can you explain why ? What you can not do as easily as you wish ? What's not intuitive ?

I AGREE it takes some getting used to, especially for the less experienced player. I and some others have posted about this, but the majority of the fans around here don't see it as a big deal [praise] Frontier is continuing to improve things especially with pathing

Here is a tip. Set the snap angle to 23 or 45 degrees, and just practice making some simple flat shapes with the paths like squares triangle and circles. Once you do that a few times you will start to get the hang of it. There is a lot to learn with all the different settings like length/width, height, curves, angle, etc. Just gotta be really patient, it will come to you eventually.

Sorry to get back late on this. I've been playing with the game more and have gotten the hang of mostly everything. The path system is fine but my only issue is that you can't line up rows of paths parallel to each other to make one huge area without getting those stupid tiny circles. The camera work on tweaking rides absolutely needs fixing asap. As of this moment it's very hard as a perfectionist such as myself to really get in close and tweaking. I imagine this to be fixed soon. I've also noticed certain items such as colored beam lights and lamps, water squirts to not be clickable once placed in certain angles, especially when they're behind another object. The actual camera used to move around is absolutely atrocious. I don't know if it's just me but there is no button for up and down!? I have to constantly scroll which is totally awkward back and forth to get a certain up or down angle going and this needs to be fixed ASAP. Also, lights inside caves don't work during the day...what gives? Also, the tracks need a testing system where you don't have to start from the beginning to see how the ride feels when ridden. There's a bunch more stuff but those are my main quirks thus-far. Again, I'm sure these will all be taking care of in updates to come. Other than that the game looks great and I can't wait for further updates.

Many people have said similar. We are hoping Frontier will add some form of open area tool.

The camera work on tweaking rides absolutely needs fixing asap. As of this moment it's very hard as a perfectionist such as myself to really get in close and tweaking. I imagine this to be fixed soon..

So use the other camera. Press 't' to toggle it on and off.

This is alpha 2. Not a full game, yet. Expect a few bugs.

Again, use the other camera.

Also, lights inside caves don't work during the day...what gives?.

Again, it's an alpha. All of the logic isn't there yet. Currently daytime = lights off, regardless of where they are placed.

Also, the tracks need a testing system where you don't have to start from the beginning to see how the ride feels when ridden.

Well, there is a testing system. Do you mean start from an arbitrary point? Not sure if you understand how physics work, if so...

In regards to your camera problems, as dalemac89 said, if you press 'T' you can toggle the camera to one that allows you to move up and down with 'Q' and 'E' and it changes the camera's pivot point. You should give that a try if you haven't already.

I agree with your point about being able to test the coaster from part way, there's a thread suggesting this here if you would like to show your interest: https://forums.planetcoaster.com/showthread.php/7487-Test-From-Here-feature

As I always like to say, if you've got feedback about the alpha, make sure you post it if someone else hasn't already as we can never assume that the devs have thought of it themselves (that's what alpha is for after all). [happy]
