Just randomly exploded 4km outside of Nicollier Hanger

No bounty, no fines, no hostiles, no trespassing (I was approaching the port and was 4km away from it) and I suddenly exploded in my pimped Asp, 1.5mln insurance.
I'm not complaining has I had plenty money to cover it, I opened a ticket but I have few hope it will be answered, as I have already 2 tickets that are still marked as new since two weeks ago.
I think I'll downgrade to a Cobra, I can't afford to lose more than one hour of play just because the game is freaking buggy as hell after months of alpha, beta and gamma.

Someone probably rammed you.. I've recently blown up an Asp with my Cobra, the CMDR just flew into me and .. BOOM!

I also used to own an Asp.. But I find myself enjoying the maneuverability of the Cobra.

I was in solo play, no one was around me I'm 100% sure, I wasn't even tired or anything. 100% sure it was lag or something.

In solo you are not immune to online lag. More than likely the game lost connection while you were flying at the station. When it reconnected it extrapolated your last know heading and speed and crashed you into the station. Thought they would have fixed that little noob network mistake. Could be something completely different though.

Been a rash of people getting blown up randomly. Happened to me once as well, inside a station lining up to exit the letterbox. In the split second watching the debris of my ship floating around, I thought I caught a glimpse of a large ship materialize out of thin air/space.

Totally not worthy to have a large ship imho, unless you do regular trading with 250 or more cargo.
You can easily make 1.5mln Cr per hour with a 40t cargo Cobra, and at least if the game bugs out on you, you'll have to pay 350k and not millions.

Edit: also, there is nothing you can't kill with a kitted Cobra/Viper, and I'd rather PvP with it instead of a much more risky Asp.

or u could make dying cheaper and the game (ai) harder
so people would actually use their ships and not be afraid to scratch the paint

And twice it is! In two days! Outside of Zamka Platform this time, still solo play, no bounties, no nothing. Still in my Asp, damn.
Two evening of rare grinding, for nothing lol.
Oh well...

Anyway, my explanation: it's not lag, I think it's some damn npc that randomly leaves supercruise and materializes INSIDE your ' ship.

I randomly lost 2 rings of my shield while approaching the pad inside a station yesterday.
It was one of the stations selling rare goods, in the systems around Fujin. Can't remember which one.
Station was empty before and after. I'm also flying an Asp. Looks like I'm lucky I didn't explode ...

This is weird...I exploded twice in two days, in an Asp like you, in Zeessze and George Pantazis, which are near Fujin.
Could be a coincidence though...

Had this happen 2 weeks ago ina type 9 with 460 gold cost me about 8 million in credits, I had requested a dock got my pad number then a red loitering warning flashed up for about a second and boom, even tho I was 3-5 km away from the station still. Painful at the time for sure

Enty

That's been happening a lot.

Good luck getting your ticket answered. I still have tickets from the week of release that are marked as 'new'. I think the person answering them also works full time at the pizza place across the lot.

Happened to me last week in my asp also on a rares run ... Nerinus i think. Docking permission given, undercarriage down, floating in gently about 4 k away and kerboom, dead. Lost 500k in insurance and about 20 rares, ticketed but no response yet

Yeah, it's not it. It happens like this: You're quietly floating towards the port entrance and suddenly without any warning BOOM

Do NPCs actually leave supercruise to spawn in your instance or do they just appear? To leave they'd need to have some sort of life of their own, which they do not appear to have, right?

Is this happening to any other ship types other than the ASP? Or aren't people bothering with posting about it happening with the cheaper ships?
