Well I suppose it does cover the whole spectrum. What I mean is that it is up to the player in this game to make it 'their game'. Do you see what I mean?
Some people might disagree with some of your decisions just as in real life. You might make some people angry, you might make enemies. I think that is the point of the game really and I think a lot of people miss it.
At the end of the day it is up to you. I don't know if I would deliberately do what you did and I am not judging you either but if you are happy with the decision you made well why question it?
But I am not sure if that is the kind of advice you are looking for. Sorry.
I like the cut of your jib CMDR. My own problem was the pitiful bounty. It doesn't sit right. But I'm sure I'll get me cumupence out there.
Personally, I would not go after a wanted cmdr for 600 cr, especially if he is in a cobra and a novice. I might give him a shoutout to let him know he needed to go and pay that off before the system authority came after him. we need to help the new players not chase them to solo or private groups.
I have had a bounty as high as 9K for the murder of general so and so, for a fed rank mission. So having a bounty does not make you a bad person. Now if he were to shoot at you that would be a different story ---then I would send him packing with a big repair bill.

what if that first(?) pvp experience for the guy who lost was awesome for him. and solidified his resolve that this game is awesome. sure he has a bit of practice to get in but man that fight was exhilerating, kind of thing.
its not like the guy followed him everywhere he went killing him every time he got the chance or ramming him whenever he saw him. I dont think the op is a bad dude. he saw an opportunity for pvp and took it.
hopefully the defeated CMDR has learnt or will learn from this and take it on boar and is not disheartened.
Yobuck would it be unsportmanly of me to ask u for a 1v1? i would use something small either a cobra or a viper aginst ur cobra (was it?) just for fun and pvp.

I applaud your human concern but are you a bounty hunter or not? If you are, decide what is the minimum amount a bounty is worth risking your ship for.
A CMDR with a bounty, for whatever reason, should realise they are marked. Wisdom suggests erasing that mark before someone tries to rub you out.
For the record, I've whacked PCs for 200cr bounties before. My conscience is clear.

As a Bounty Hunter/Mercenary I wouldn't care if it is a 1 or 1,000,000 bounty, if they are wanted it is fair game to kill them
