I think it's great. Not necessarily what I'd have done; I'd have kept the Krait small, Sidewinder sized, but made it like an SLF on steroids by giving it the speed and handling of a fighter like in the original games.
But for a new medium sized ship it looks fine. Similar enough in overall shape to evoke the original (certainly closer than either the Adder or FDL) but with a unique aesthetic. I love the bridge placement, and the fact that you can see great chunks of the hull from the pilot's seat. The whole thing has a very
Alien vibe. The overall shape is reminiscent of the
Narcissus escape ship, especially around the engines, and the bridge is very like some of the early designs for the
Nostromo bridge. The multicrew positions are even vaguely similar to the cupola where Ash had his monitoring station.
The only thing I dislike so far is the poor pitch authority in combat, but that's a handling thing rather than aesthetics. And I think I've been spoiled by the FAS and Chieftain anyway.
But I've no issue with the looks. In fact with some lightweight engineering and a Guardian FSD enhancer it'll make for a very photogenic mid-range explorer. I might end up using it for that purpose just for getting the Exploration rank up on my non-explorer account. It'll look great orbiting Earth-likes with its downward-looking canopy.
And for the people wanting some asymmetry in their ships, I recommend you take a look at the back end of the Krait. I don't know about the outer hull, but there's definitely some asymmetry to wherever that hatch leads.
