Wow it is everything and more, The AI seems much smoother and I haven't noticed an clipping yet.

Never listen to IGN. They are worthless.
I just started, too. I'm very disappointed. Please don't flame me for this, anybody, but I'm extremely confused about how power works. Even when I connect buildings or substations with pylons, it still says some of them have no power. It's very frustrating.
You might want to watch some videos first on how things work in game.
Might be worth starting an explicit thread if you want help with that.
I have been. Maybe I'm just stupid. I understand everything else in the game fine. The power thing is really frustrating me, though.

It should be like any other game. Just make a power station and start running power likes to things you want electrified.
Aslong as the building is in the circle zone of the substation and the substation is connected by power poles then there should be power. Unless you have to many buildings then you need to build a new powerstation or upgrade the current one you have. Thats what worked for me anyway.
Edit: substation needs to be connected to powerstation with poles, buildings don't need to be connected

From what I understand there are 3 things:
Powerplants - Generate power
Substations - Distribute power to nearby buildings
Power Cables - Link up different plants and substations or specific buildings
It's possible you have been building substations which only distribute power and not actually generate any. Clicking the powerplant will show any spare power like 1 spare or whatever. Clicking buildings shows power required, so it's possible you have 1 spare but require 3 to get the next building online.
Note: I could be wrong about the above. At present I'm only an enthusiastic observer of livestreams, I have no gameplay myself to back any of the above up

If your here an a fan long before the IGN review (so far for me) is just to the max. About the power you can make as many substations as you want but you'll need actual power plants also. One small plant only has so much power. Personally I am about 3 hours in with research..ranger and ACU plus a new electric fence enclosed waiting for my soon to be carnivor and I have 3 power plants to power it all.
I would double check to make sure everything is connected. You can put the substation down, but still need to make it to the powerlines. Also make sure you have enough power you can run out easily in the beginning.
I wouldn't totally disagree or dismiss everything the guy from ign said, but i knew all that before his review so there was nothing there that surprised me. But i really disagree with the score, that score seems like it should be for a buggy, broken game, which he made no mention of.

I’m actually having the same issue lol. I can’t get power going to the buildings I want. Was about to make a thread but I’m glad I’m not the only one. It is late and I’m tired but I made a new generator even and there was nothing that showed me how to actually hook it up. I had power lines running all over, wouldn’t connect to the building itself. I’ll try again tomorrow lol uhg.
I just got done playing it. I probably only played for about an hour or so. It's almost 5:00 AM here.
The game looks great and the Dinosaurs are amazing looking. So far I haven't had a bad time like that IGN guy did but I only have half a star and I am still on Matanceros.
This game is going top be amazing with post release support.
I was playing and I don't want to stop. I want to get more fossils and increase my Dinosaurs to 100% genome.
