PvP Just stop chicken out and maybe you will get more figths.

Well... then my apology as well to sound bit snarky as well.

Back to topic.... yes i know the rules of combat 101.... have 8 years of EVE-O under the belt starting from beta.... and yet..... If he is so brave to pull out the ( mostly PVE for mats collection ) fitted ship out of SC ( i know he was watching my modules on ship ) in your PVP fitted ship.... at least scrap your balls together and try end the fight you started.

You see thats why OPEN considered as infested area.... ( i know there is some PVP oriented groups which do decent fights with each other ) but the rest is big part of it in open is just trash. Gank or nothing.

Anyway.... its already old horse this discussion... dont think it wont change much in anyway!
I get what you are saying: If you start a fight, you should see it through.

However: I don't think you will find many people that would want to stick around and basically die; if the fight they started, was not going their way. Doing a Sir Robin with their tail between their legs, is a natural instinct and as long as they are Hi-waking, fair play to them.

This is the kind of garbage statement I fear FD actually thinks is true.
Murder and Combat Logging.
Have they happened to me. Yes.
But they are the exception not the rule.

And now there is a C&P system is in place because of this ignorance.
Anything should go in Open. Period !

Dude, I can't tell if you agree or disagree with my post. Mostly it looks like you're really really angry at the C&P system, which is only tangental to the thread.

Sometimes I get the impression that a fight without a kill at the end, attacker or target, feels incomplete to folks due to other game conditioning. Many XP-based games teach the players that fights should resolve until death of one side or the other - fleeing is usually not even an option. Even Bethesda games encourage full-kill encounters with XP. Here, you only earn actual experiences, not XP.

You have to pick your battles wisely. Not every conflict is worth turning into a major battle. There are certain battles which simply cannot be won no matter how much effort you put into them or what strategies you use. They are simply losing causes and fighting such battles does little to help you accomplish your ultimate objectives. The wise man will not let his pride get in the way of obtaining his goals, and fighting a battle which cannot be won is a prime example of allowing your pride to cloud your thinking!

100% Agreed! I PVP quite regularly and just ran into this last night. Was with my wing in Eravate and was fighting another wing of 4 when the 4 turned into 16! We tried but it's useless. Ended up retreating till things cooled down :)

In this case, a pilot attacked another pilot, and sucked so badly at it that they had to run away. Shooting down their ride at that point is merely a formality; they lost the encounter, and lost hard. No explosion needed to occur to prove that. PVP doesn't always need to resolve as "two ships enter, one ship leaves", unless the definition for PVP encounters only refers to ritual/arena combat to the death.

This comment would be on point if it were actually referring to the context of what I was quoting in the first place, Tarman. But it isn't.

I frequently lose the myriad plots around here. I blame your mustache, it's back to its original radiance.
