Just tried 1.1 firstime tonight against Elite Anaconda and...

It was even more a walk in the park than Before. Did not use any shield cells and never lost Shields until just at the end when the conda exploded.

Otherwise felt like just Before 1.1. No trouble staying behind even without FaOFF

I fly Viper. two lasers and two M cannons.

Maybe I was wrong, I thought AI was buffed in 1.1?
 
The AI improvements were supposed to be around docking and collision avoidance.

SJA keeps indicating that NPCs will be more challenging in 1.2 since they will have logic that avoids your line of fire, specifically. Not sure this really applies to the lumbering Anaconda.

Though, in my opinion, a single fighter should be able to take down an Anaconda without too much trouble. NPC Anacondas should be travelling with wingmen.
 
Ok thanks for clearing it up. One thing I can say is that Anacondas have however never been passive for me like in some videos where they never fight back,

Maybe because I have Always V-sync on. There was a mention in the patch notes about this
 
Yeah, I fought a few Anacondas in my Cobra the other night. Took down 5 of them before needing reload and get more SCBs. A couple Novice Anacondas, obviously were easier. It was actually just one Dangerous Anaconda that ate most of my SCBs...it took supreme advantage of my indecisiveness.

Side tip...Cannons eat power plants for breakfast...like seriously. If you can time them so they land right, they are absolutely devestating to any ship with an easily targeted power plant.
 
Try a few more... people have reported a wide range of experiences going up against 'condas since the patch. Some seem to be rather easy, and some are very, very tough.
 
Sadly I have to admit that I got whooped by an Elite Anaconda just yesterday. I can't remember the last time I actually died from an assassination mission. Maybe I just found one of those "ELITE" Condas, but for me they seem to be much tougher now.
 
YES.. I have one of those missions right now.. A few shots and shields out and I'm taking damage (IT CAN'T MISS). The kicker is no matter what I did I could not get around behind him. He was keeping up with my maxed out viper, IN REVERSE. :S it made no sense. Last-night I took out one with more effort than pre-1.1 but not this hard. This is one of my favorite things to do in the game and unfortunately its too unpredictable now to keep up. Too much risk for the reward given. It also means it has turned this game into Elite Space Trucker.

I feel like I spent all this time and effort into building up a viper and cobra to take on these things only to have the game be so screwed up now it makes those ships pretty much worthless for anything but boring stuff at nav points.

This marks the first time I've wanted to step away from this game.
 
I fought a conda the other day and I discovered my boost was not working and my shield was failing. But I stuck with it and got the conda to realize that I had my cargo scoop deployed for the whole fight.
So i managed to kill the conda with cargo scoop open.
