Just upped to a T7

And as one does, you look around the cockpit, study it a bit, get a feel for it without moving. You know.
Get with the cargo and the route, take off. Fine, it sounds ok to begin with, no big deal really, was expecting more but im not out of the letterbox yet...
So there i was, excited about hitting that boost button to hear the sounds of my new ship... i hit it.

It sounds like a frigging propeller plane...

So you could say i was a little...

I was excited about trading in my new ship... now im not.

PS: A little thanks to another commander for reminding me of this clip. (Cant recall who.)

Yep, our devs just love to stick Rolls-Royce Merlin sound to their spaceships. Apparently, lot of people like it too. You'll get used to it.

Yep, the T7 is a lovechild of a corrugated metal toolshed and an Antonov AN-2.
You'll love it when you get used to it, just mind the overheating (get a good power supply and distributor to reduce the heat building up when FSD-ing).

Now if they continue the trend. Will we be hearing the Vulcan bomber howl from one of the new ships - it would be most impressive!

I quite liked my T7, in some ways it sounded better than my Clipper. The guttural 20th century engine noises are so refreshing compared to the normal pew pew of other space games and I think it is one of FD's better design choices, at least for me.

A type 7 takes a massive amount of power to move it and should make some very meaty noises, I can see why the OP is disappointed.

The type of sound that would suit it is the USS Excelsior from star trek 3 charging up for warp but without the conking out noises.

Enjoy your Space-Cow. Just a word of advice, if you get interdicted, don't think you stand a chance fighting back. Run Forrest, run!
