Just Wanted to say thankyou Frontier!

About (3) years ago I left Eve in disgust, Now mind you I was a (3) Titan owner, 2 Super Carriers. I was a member of PL, Goon, AAA, as well as a couple of others concurrently. Spied on all of them for all of them LOL.

Between Eve's Gulag type customer service, and virtually all of my good friends leaving because of all the rotten people, poor games man ship. I honestly could clearly see Eve was a very self destructing crowd, with almost all hating newer players. Eve's established player base drove almost 2/3rd's of the PVE players away from there game, and CCP seemed to think it was cool.

Then there is SC. I dropped almost 4K on supporting this org. Doing so I would think CR would give the tiniest bit regard to the early bakers. What did we get? free hanger fee's. CR & Cig seem to care almost as much about us, as CCP did the new players. You know fame and money do weird things to people, CR is a good example.

All the time all this money has been funneled to CIG, you frontier guys were quietly building this very cool game.

I want to apologize for not giving you more support early on! I shouldn't have spent that money over there. It was a bad decision. The best I could contribute was a Premium Beta, and expansion pack, a poultry 250 USD.

However from this day on, please consider me a hard core supporter for ED, I see a lot of good work here, and above all, were up and running here. If you have any new funding drives, LTI ships that go for sale, Etc. you count me in, 100 percent.

I recommend you consider handling your customers, like loyal customers. There is no rule that says Frontier can love it's customers as much as we may love the game.

Being an old military pilot, I love shooting the approaches to the stations & landing pads, I love the look and feel.

Thanks for getting us all back in space again. Best Regards Woody

Yep, it certainly has taken a nose dive.

I've been playing Elite for about 3 weeks now and am very impressed. With all the up and coming content and the nice balance between pve and pvp this should be an incredible game.

Welcome aboard!

I always figured the problem with Eve was the learning curve (never played the game myself, dont like subscriptions), there were just too many controls you had to learn..

If you want to contribute more, you can buy me a beta copy haha

Great first post liked and mirrored a lot of it from my own experience. But the quoted bit was what I zoned in on and they are very very wise words. We are the single best advertising any developer can hope for, treat us right and you'll get it back 10 fold.

Amen

Welcome Commander and well said! Having fond memories of playing the original Elite back in the 80's, I was overjoyed to learn that Frontier had begun development on Elite Dangerous - and I wasn't disappointed; it is an amazing experience, capturing the spirit of the first game but with amazing next-gen graphics and gameplay. They are producing something that was way beyond my expectations, and I think they should all be proud of themselves! I joined at Premium Beta, and I am so glad to be a part of the game, watching it grow and being there to enjoy it.

I am just waiting now for a new paint job for my Viper :p , and I will look forward to supporting them with new purchases/merchandise - all to keep this game ticking along nicely. It's an astronomers dream :)

4K on star citizen?

wowzers. FD would name a star system after you for less than that.

And they'd give you a game you can play too. :D

Superb stuff and welcome aboard!

If you need any help or tips pootle along to this thread or this FAQ thread or the FAQ thread setup by Michael Brookes for some guidance etc. If you need help just ask, there's plenty out there willing to help out. But do have a go at searching first to see if your queries/prayers have already been answered ;)

To get yourself going, start off in the Federal Distress scenario (head to Eranin 2 and SuperCruise around until you find it) and join the Eranin Defence faction (use the right hand menu, last tab, to do this). Do not shoot at anything that appears on your scanner with a hollow triangle or rectangle as these are PCs and most will likely retaliate. Shoot at anything with a solid red icon in the scanner you should manage to kill one every couple of minutes to start with and this will improve as you do. To collect your bounties remember to head back to Azeban every now and then... If you die you will not be able to collect any uncollected bounties.

If you die, do not worry, just get the free sidewinder again. Do not get the old loadout until you've built up a decent amount of cash in-game and are confident of making at least Cr3-4K between each death. At this point get your laser upgraded when you can afford to but make sure you always have at least twice and possibly three times the insurance value of your ship in reserve. Rinse and repeat until you can afford a bigger ship and carry on...

You will be able to start trading effectively when you get the Cobra so your options widen at that point...

Above all, keep practising and enjoy the game!
