I found this amusing. I wanted the Fed Corvette from the beginning of playing ED on launch day of the PS4. I'd mission run for a few days then do something else, you know play the game. then mission run for a few days, then do CG or Explore, some Road to riches planet scan ect. once I unlocked Sol i focused one day weekend only mission running to get the smaller ships, then the last 1 i was head down to complete the rank to RA. Mission accomplished. as I bought my Vette and started the fitting/engineer process i said to myself "self, so happy I'm done with Ranking. now i can play the game and run missions when they look fun. even try new things like mining or salvage" and i was happy

then the invite for Liz Ryder came in and i have to be a rank of Outsider in Empire! I was like you have GOT to be kidding me. I haven't done any empire missions to date. Super happy to find it's Rank 1. whew. then the line from Michael Corleone (Godfather 3 (i think)) came to me

"Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in!"

Now I'm off to figure out where to get this lady her cigars.

I've figured that, at 5% Deadly and at my current rate of play, it will take me about three months to get Elite in combat.
I reckon I can reduce that to 2 months if I buy a Corvette. But at 76% Post Commander it will take me a month to unlock it

Go up to empire rank 3, buy the iCourier, then retire your Corvette.
