JX Cosmic Photography compilation #1 - Planetary Beauty (PIC HEAVY!)

JX Cosmic Photography
invites you to our first compilation of themed cosmic photos.

PLANETARY BEAUTY
"To see is to believe."

(Please note photo comments are placed above said photos, so that scroll-down reading is supported)

Leaving Sol, we wave "good bye" to some of the planets we pass by as we build FTL speed.

Saturn:

Uranus:

... and as we near our solar system's borders, we also say "good bye" to airless planets this time...

... as our focus will be on all those beautiful, yet unappreciated planets that most of us do not bat an eye during our busy, daily schedule.
Like when presenting cosmic wonders to tourists' eager eyes:

Now that we've left secure space, let's open our eyes to witness what's right under our noses.

We're allowing this one to pass our QA due to recent progress in planetary surface imaging.

Despite lack of features, some planets generate outstanding depth feeling due to atmosphere's thickness, thanks to which a sense of distance is much better than with airless planets.

All images (and a few more that didn't pass final QA run!) can be found in full size in our online cosmic photography catalogue:

We hope we've managed to convince you the surrounding world can be a beautiful place to be, and as a result - you'll be more inclined to stop for a moment at low orbit, put your thrusters in neutral and gaze upon hundreds of kilometers of continental details right below.

Stay tuned for more themed galleries coming in the future!

Man, I respect You but please put those pics in spoiler tags, will need 30 mins to load them all in one post.
Or put several of them in different posts, mercy.

Thank you, Everyone, for visiting! Glad you had good time checking out photos :)

Thanks for the feedback!
My initial plan was to put miniatures linking to full-size images, but I would need to manually shrink every single one of'em, then upload both miniatures and full size images to Imgur - not the most time-efficient method.
That said, I hear you and I'll look for a way to make it more bandwidth-friendly in a future.

Absolutely awesome!

I am not good at taking screenshots, would love to know how you get such nice images!

Glad you enjoyed it :)
What I do in search for nice photos is:
- checking a lot of planets, even if they initially don't look interesting in system map (ice planets tend to have some nice features up close that can't be verified in the map);
- lot of short SC to find a perfect spot for a picture;
- often, I use full zoom in the lowest possible orbit (when you're pulled out of SC with "Too close" message), which allows to get as good shots of surface details as currently possible, plus gives the feeling of being at the height of ISS, orbiting a planet.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not good either - even within this gallery, I can clearly tell which shots are early, and which are the latest. It evolves with time so if you feel like it, get out there and start making photos :) Plus, sometimes it's pure luck, both with positioning, or just getting that perfect angle.
