Maybe I've been unlucky. Maybe my combat style has changed from the Cobra to the Vulture. Maybe it's the upcoming Perseid meteor shower causing funky things. All I know is since the update, I've been rammed three times in combat by NPC's. I know I know, "they don't call it Elite: Dangerous for nothing." Still an irritating way to go down, especially after farming 370 power play points in a crime sweep. Stinkin' clippers...

Clipper much heavier than vulture, ramming is a valid tactic in this match up. Whether that is intended, idk. Either way, you should never go at a heavier ship head on unless you are prepared to break away early enough. Try to position yourself so that you are moving along their yaw axis, makes it harder for them to track or ram.
Oh I definitely know I'd lose that physics matchup. I was doing my best sucker fish impression with a Conda, and following its destruction, I turned to face an Asp. Noticed I was taking fire from two other ships so I decided to begin a strategic retreat. Next thing I know, face full of clipper and death. Oh well. At least my buy-back is only 500k
This isn't new, NPC's were ramming before GPP2 was released. I've encountered many Vultures, Pythons & Anacondas that attempt to ram me. One Anaconda learned the hard way that my Asp's shields & reinforcement was stronger than expected... he went BOOM when he rammed me as I was shooting out his power plant.
