OK. I built a kart track. The adoring public queues up, jumps in the karts, and drives them around the track.
However, the queue is typically full (that old excess prestige for tracked rides issue), and the karts can only take one passenger each so it takes a long time to process guests.
This results in my kart track being a financial problem - I can't get enough guests through fast enough to make it profitable.
So for all you expert kart track constructors here are a few questions:
I'm guessing that for tracked rides the rafting rides might be the most profitable if one uses the full 20 rafts permitted and sizes the track to keep them all in play to maximize the rate at which guests are moved to queuing to getting wet (riding).
Thanx in advance,
TQ

So for all you expert kart track constructors here are a few questions:
- What is the maximum number of karts one can have in play at once? The more there are at a time, the more $$$ the tracks make...
- What is the optimum length of the track? Long enough to be interesting, short enough so the race finishes in a reasonable amount of time...
- Or, is there a desirable race duration which is duration = (lap-length / speed) x number-of-laps. in which case what is the best race duration for providing enough thrills for the drivers while not causing those in line to pee their pants and get angry while waiting?
- Because the kart track does tend to suck people away from other, potentially more profitable rides, I saw a reference to making tracked rides less prestigious. But I didn't see the set of ways to do this...
- If I want profitability should I set the kart pricing to $30 or something really high? Or will that just p*ss off the peeps who want to ride it but can't afford it - or drain money away they might spend on other prestige "5" rides?
