Kauruk Lockdown - Who's responsible?

And a key question for me - Why? From what I've seen, a lockdown like this is usually caused by deliberate player activity that was meant to cause one - Anybody know if that's the case here? Has any player group claimed responsibility or anything like that?

...and again, if this was deliberate on behalf of some player group or somesuch - Why?? Almost any other CG I'd understand, and frankly wouldn't give much of a crap, but causing a lockdown on a CG meant to honor fallen commanders and their loved ones? That's just... low.

Anywho, I don't know, that's my two cents - Felt like saying something since it seemed like no one else had yet. Feel free to weigh in (or flame away, I guess, lol) if you are so inclined...

Why do it? For one; because they can. And in the hopes that someone would react, just like you did, with this thread.

I'll never understand that impulse. I grew out of that kind of foolishness back in grade school, personally ;) But that was kind of a side-objective of this post, honestly, if some people unfortunately did do this on purpose for reasons like you say, to let them know that they're scum. Because they are :)

Yep. That's humanity for you.
That's why we can't have nice things, flying cars and colonies on Mars and Venus.

WELL SAID, lol =p

I agree with OP. I finally had some spare time to play and the first thing I try to accomplish is blocked. I know triggering a lock-down is "legitimate" play, but it's morally despicable to close down a CG like this one.

Frontier, are you listening? This is a case where you could apply a quality-of-life improvement: Allow limited trading on the commodity board, at least for the CG items

I agree that forcing a Lockdown in a CG system is a lousy tactic.

However, you all have the tools to reverse it. Go out and bounty hunt like crazy in the system. Enough people hand in bounties, the Lockdown can be cleared more quickly within a day or two.

So start turning in those bounty vouchers. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but there's still time to reverse the lockdown before the CG ends.

More pew-pew, less qq :)

EDIT: Ninja'ed!

Could be entirely just be enough random activity in that system was leading to the lockdown.

Pretty sure even some passenger missions increase lockdown in the destination, rebels is it?

*edit*
Oh turns out there was a directed effort

In any case, more BH for the Labour union and we can get the lockdown said and done in 3 days

No it's not, come on, some players have trekked all over collecting rares, and now they're sitting there wondering what to do with them. It's not emergent gameplay, it's one little kid (if not physically, then pyschologically and intellectually) being a tool and rallying a bunch of halfwits who are too easily led and just want to cause disruption.

It's exactly this kind of crap that will lead to the end of the human race in an implosion of selfishness.

I for one will go to try to lift the lockdown tonight, maybe even in open.

It's a legit tactic with emergent game play(this is Fdevs own game mechanic), as already mentioned, it can be countered.

It's legitimate emergent life if I shoot you in the head as you come out of the house (this is the universe's intended life/death mechanic), the only difference is that in life there are consequences, which is why people like ollo have to get their rocks off making statements that affect thousands of players. If the thargoids had caused the lock down, that would be FD giving us emergent gameplay. I already described what this is, some childish malcontent spoiling the game play to selfishly further a poorly considered and even worse defined agenda.

He freely admits he's holding the game to ransom, this would be illegal in reality and it should be in the game too.

Just saw this over on reddit on my daily flyby of the place. Explains the who and why.

I agree would have been in better taste to do it on another CG not one in this vain, but welcome to the wonderful world of online gaming.

The reason for it in Reddit is muted as FDEV already announced core game changes etc. If they don't like the game don't play it or come back later after 3.0 starts

So if it's bounty hunting that's required, let's get some multicrew going so all those pilots stuck in the station with rares they can't sell can help lift the lockdown. No rings in Kauruk - any good hunting grounds?
