Keelback Multicrew and Turrets

So this was in the 2.3.10 patch notes:

Multi-Crew

  • Fix to allow the Helm access to turret mode options when they do not have a Gunner in their Multi-Crew session

But here's the thing. Even thought the Keelback has an SLF to launch, unlike other 2 seater ships (with no SLF btw) the KB can't have other players visit your ship. Ok fine sure I get it, Frontier forgot to add a suicide car to the KB in post production. That's cool. But... why can't the KB pilot still have the option to jump into the turret seat like other MC ships can do? After all, the KB is apparently a "multicrew" ship with only 1 seat, so it's always multicrew, right? Right?? :D

Better yet, why does the Keelback have no multicrew? It would be the ideal low cost multicrew SLF ship, newer players would have access to a co-op medium Carrier ship.

Currently the only option for multicrew in a medium SLF ship is the Federal Gunship, which is rank locked. Every other option is a large and rather pricey ship, Keelback having an extra seat would make it a fun low cost multicrew Carrier option, particularly given the new PS4 launch has many new players that would want a cheap SLF ship with multicrew.

As a Keelback user myself, I've never understood this limitation either......likewise, I find it odd that the Asp doesn't have an SLF bay. Frontier should seek to fix both glaring oversights.

Im actually using a keelback fer a trip into the core which could have been a good excuse fer sightseeing tours...but yeah...just one chair. Shame...ah well...

Or...take the python but lose the slf...why no slf in such a lovely ship? Im not normally a huge mc fan but I wouldnt have said absolutely no either ^

Agreed. It's silly that the freak'n Federal Gunship is the cheapest ship that can properly support multiplayer helm. Yes, I'm perfectly aware that smaller ships support gunner only, but gunning sucks.

I feel like there needs to be a medium Imperial SLF ship, even if it only barely performs better than a Keelback (my vote is for something with 4 medium hardpoints, internals between Keelback and AspX and 2 seats, so it can properly support multicrew, like the FGS)

I also feel like a fully capable SLF ship, capable of showcasing all of what multicrew could be at the medium ship scale, needs to be available for ALL. No rank restrictions, at least 2 seats, maybe 3 (though, I get reserving 3 seats for large ships.)

My idea for such a ship is a heavy Asp, with weapon location suited to turret fitment and the SLF bay. Maybe it's performance when crewed by just the pilot would make it seem weaker or poorer value than the AspX, but with multicrew, edges out the AspX. That way it does not invalidate the AspX, except when in the very specific cercumstances it was designed to excell in.

because it would be too OP for a cheap car
