Keep cargo in ship when switching to new ship. or give storage option.

Now with elite 3.0. It's a big problem that you cannot switch to other ship and keep the cargo in the old ship. So we need some to have the option to switch ship and keep cargo in the old one. Or some option to store it outside the ship.

Why ?, Where doing a wing mission. and because as soon you logout the wing invite expires.
So now am waiting until the other send invite for the wing mission again so i can drop cargo in the wing mission.

Meanwhile , i cannot play elite. Because i cannot switch ship. For different mission or material collecting.

This need to be fixed asap. i have not enough cargo space in the other ship. You not want it with you on other mission and ship. Now with wing missions a station storage option is requirement we need.!

No we don't want people to hold Cargo and then sell it when there a boom.

If someone in the wing has computer issue or leaves. Maybe a idea is find another group wing that a little more stable.

No we need cargo storage. or like i just got hinted. Find anothe rmission to dump the good. There no otehr wing players in the private group. And in solo there for sure no wing players. Not playing open.

So yes we stoill need some storage option. for only one ship.
Otherwise wing misison never work good.

Or not kick us out of the wing mission mabye if that person logs off ?
Anyway soemthing need to be adjusted to solve problems like this.
If you cannot store the cargo and there's no other mission you can dump it.

The game HALTS with playing. Not so stupid to sell it as
commodities and then need to flay a few jump back to buy new ones later.

Wing missions are good, the implementation of not having storage option
or not the option to deliver it to the misison when the other is offline is a fail.

I lucky just found a good mission that pays correct to release my cargo into that. But a storage or otehr way to avoid problems in wing missions would be nice.

That's a good point that I never thought of, but recently when I was collecting materials for Guardian tech I ran into a problem. Most of the missions that offered Articulation Motors as a reward were combat missions, but I was in my exploration rigged Asp Explorer. I have an iEagle at a nearby station, but I couldn't get in it to use it because some of the materials for the Guardian tech are commodities, and the Eagle didn't have cargo space for it. Maybe these could be converted to materials to make the use of other ships possible? I also spent a long time going through stations and mission boards trying to find Articulation Motors before I realized I shouldn't be looking for materials, but commodities. I was using the wrong reward filter the whole time.

Really? Think people will invest buying number of couple tens of millions costing ships with 800~ cargo on them just so they can sell stuff out for 5000credit more profit then they could've got for some couple hundered tons when there are ways to gain a couple hundered millions under an hour?

Agree with the OP. The problem I usually have on the issue is, I stock up on a large number of collector limpets (combat Corvette can easily hold a couple hundered), then I get to change the ship for a little taxi occasion but whoops, need to trash them out, then rebuy them when I get in. And the linearly monotonous speed that buying counter moves up while pressing down that + ... Uhgg. Sounds silly to have such an issue in the game tbh. I think this kind of option will come eventually. I think I also vaguely remember them saying somewhere "ability to stash things on some places" from back in those kickstarter days.

They are just a troll best to ignore.

Problem with cargo storage is that it can be abused, buy up huge amounts of x, and then mass dump at some time? be it for UA attacks or whichever, people would be able to totally mess up the BGS.

update: also would encourage players to stockpile and then sell at best times only, which i doubt is wanted.

To be fair stocking up on non-expiring goods on a storage area so it can be sold later at a strategic time is a perfectly valid market strategy for some smaller investors. Not producers, but pilot/traders such as we. Can't see why that sort of thing can't also be balanced properly to give acceptable profits too. More variation and flavor and things to do in ED.

I also want cargo storage.

I'm ok if there is a small storage fee like with module transfers.

I'd really like to store Gaurdian relics, Thargoid samples, Rare Commodities, etc.

If FDev made it so you cant sell stored cargo during a boom would you still be against it ?
Do you know players can manipulate the background sim don't you? Which means they can manipulate the market. Now let say a group of 10 to 20 players Store a large amount of one cargo in a station and let say each can store 1,000 cargo at a Station. Plus whatever they have in there cargo hold. Let say they are using Large ships. Now let say they all decided flood one system economy. Which could change that system economy for better or worse. Which could hurt that system.

See One ship shipping an item to a system might not affect a system much. But being able to flood that system could make it a boom or a bust.

ok and???

How about station storage but you have the pay to store the goods. Like renting storage space IRL. You could make a hourly payment or pay for the cumulative time it was stored when you pick it up. This would eliminate the prospect of long term storage. especially if you end up paying more than the goods are worth.

There are several points here.

1) it's passive earning, you get it on TOP of that couple of hundred million an hour, and if you are already a multi billionaire a few tens of millions to have ships scattered around the galaxy passively earning isn't a big issue.

2) CG's. There's a CG, needs a common material available at a station 70ly away. Station has a shipyard so I buy ten T9, sell everything and fill them with cargo racks and the required mat, fly my combat equipped FDL to the CG station, summon my ten T9's by ship transfer, spend the next ten minutes swapping between them and doing the CG, rinse and repeat. You think you get salty tears of exploit complaint out of people doing CG's in solo now, wait for the sea of tears at that exploit.

Well we could stop that by making it so you couldn't transfer ships with cargo, then someone would go all salty because they left a couple of things in the hold and the ship they need is stuck at X station and boohoo it's not fair now they have to fly all the way back to sell two tons of biowaste. So let them sell it remotely you say? Ooh now I don't even have to fly where my ship full of cargo is stored to make money, I could just sit here in my nice safe home and buy and sell around the galaxy.

Now by no means have I scraped the barrel in possible exploits, and we probably will never know how many exploits are possible unless they actually do it, but there are a number of easy ones that spring to mind, and then FDEV will need to spend time tracking them all down and eliminating them one by one, and everyone will attack them because they did exactly what some people wanted and shove the consequences.

It's their game, if they don't want it they don't have to put it in. Feel free to ask away though, just like the fast travel people and the autopilot everywhere people.
