Newcomer / Intro Keep Cargo?

I was wondering if when you store a ship, and you have it fully loaded with cargo, (because you just purchased another ship), does the cargo stay intact with your first ship or do you lose the cargo?

You can't store a ship if it has cargo inside.

The game wont allow you to store a ship with cargo onboard.

Pity/Good Idea (depending on your perspective). Would love to accumulate rares over a period of days doing normal mission/trading bimbling and store them in my parked T6. Then head off for a quick selling trip when its full.
