Currently there are two targets used for navigation: your currently selected target, and the route target. As long as you have not reached the final destination, you can use a key to select your route. But once you are in the final system, your route disappears.
I would like to see the ability to set a route target in the same system (Resp. keep it until the end). This would provide me with a hot key to quickly reacquire my destination. Currently, when I decide to check out something else, it is quite laborious to focus on your destination again, using the left hand target pane. This extra work has the effect that I am much less willing to scan other ships / check out signal sources on route, because those extra seconds to get back to my planned route get annoying.
