Keepers and Split Indoor/Outdoor Habitat

I have built a Pygmy Hippo habitat which has an indoor guest building with viewing of the indoor shelter. There is also an off show indoor shelter. I have used wall pieces to build the house and left a gap leading out to the outdoor area. The keeper door is in the outside section. The Hippos will quite happily walk in and out and use the indoor section but keepers will not go in. These sections aren't getting cleaned and I get constant cleanliness alerts.

I also have a similiar set up in my Aardvark habitat. The Aardvarks go in and out but the keeper will not go in and fill the food or water inside.

If the animals go in and out why can't the keepers?

Possibly a height issue? Since both of those animals are relatively short they may be alright, but make sure your keeper has head clearance.
