Keepers in multi-animal enclosure

I know there has been a lot of discussion around this but I have a large enclosure with 20 animals across 4 species. I assigned 4 keepers and created a workzone, however only 1 will ever go in, the other 3 walk up to the gate and turn around again.

I have tried setting specific tasks like cleaning/food/exhibit but nothing changes. The one keeper is just about keeping things going now I have balanced having the correct amount of feeders (lots) but I may as well get rid of the other 3 if they can't do anything. Is this something I am doing wrong or have missed or just the way things are currently ?

I haven’t tried any big combination exhibits in my zoos but like you said I heard discussion about this too. My guess is to make more barrier doors as well as a keeper hut and staff center and assign a different one to that one. Like I said I have no experience with this so just a idea.

a keeper sems to occupy the "space" of doing things in the habitat. But, keepers have to rest from time to time, so it makes sense, to assigne more than one for habitats that need it. the solution for habitats with many animals is to keep ways as short as posible, so place the keeperhut and staff-room directly near the entrance of the habitat. That is also useful, for the resaerch-center, because vets and keepers have simular routines (staffr=>habitat=>keeperhut=>Habitat=>Staffroom) the key is to manage time by reducing the time, they spend walking. dont forget to train your keepers, that speed up things they do. btw, dont try to put the max-number of all anima-spec in the savannah, its too much. in my own zoos, i never mix more than 3 spec, may depend on the spec and also on the amount and distances of feeding devices to the entrance.

Thanks guys, I have a staff room and keepers hut right outside. I will try adding more barrier doors but thought it was limited to one per enclosure but maybe it changed.

you can only have one entrance. the tip, that you could build more is nonesense.

This is a bit weird, I have gone back into the game and fired one of the keepers and within 10 seconds all three keepers are working in the enclosure. Maybe it just need a re-load or having 3 was the correct number.
