Greetings CMDRs! I haven't done much exploration in the past, but I suddenly caught the bug to go see The Core. I knew I wanted to do it in style 'cause I realized I would be staring at my dashboard for many hours of many days, so I decided on my trusty Imperial Clipper for the job. I was a little nervous about running out of fuel, so I went a little overboard with extra fuel tanks, but still managed a semi-respectable jump range.
I was a pretty good little explorer on my way and scanned every system and did surface scans of stars and pretty planets. Toward the end of my journey to The Core I started to get pretty impatient, but stuck to the routine! However, I have a sneaky suspicion that I won't be so diligent on my way back. I hear the calling of my other ships, and long to get back to them. I've been pretty careful so far around the stars, and only dropped out once because I got too close. Got a little bit of damage, but I think I should make it back okay.
The views along the way were magnificent! I couldn't believe how bright it was getting into the core. I'm used to calling it "The Black" and "The Void", but those descriptions just don't work in the core. It felt alive with energy even though there wasn't another soul out there. However, when you do run into another CMDR's foot-prints, it's very startling! When you realize just how many systems there are between civilized space and The Core, it's almost madness to run into another "First Discovered By" tag!
All in all its been a great experience getting there, and now I'm making my way back home, slowly but surely. I have another 14Kly to go, and space is starting to darken again, so wish me luck making it home safely! Thanks for the great community, and fly safe CMDR's!
