Keeping passengers happy.

Hi Cmdrs,

Twice now I have taken aboard a passenger who requires me to source some goods for their satisfaction.

I could not source them at the station he boarded so I went to the nearest location and got what he wanted.

However at the end of the journey he was dissatisfied despite me getting what he wanted and arriving early.[mad]

Is there another way that I can keep him satisfied with his request.:S

Thanks,

His satisfaction probably dropped due to him getting scanned.

Passengers are in the whole "muh privacy" department. I haven't seen any passenger yet that doesn't get annoyed from scans.

I had a passenger this evening who wanted 3t of liquor just after takeoff for a 2 jump trip. He didnt get it, but only went down slightly in happiness.
Still paid me >4MCr though.

I see them all the time, spent many hours in the beluga only transporting people without the secretive trait.

As for passanger happy-level that only seems to go down but never up. So if you do something he does not like it will go down, but no matter what you do it will never go up. Which I don't think is good, doing things like getting him certain goods should make him more happy again.

Be sure you acknowledge the request for a commodity, in the messages window, before actually going to get it. Otherwise it won't count.

I have had plenty of non secretive passengers, & have successfully managed to get secretive passengers where they need to go without being scanned.

That said, I do wish that passenger satisfaction was both more interactive *and* more pro-active (so players can do things, without being asked, that can *increase*-or decrease-customer satisfaction).

An example might be getting a time sensitive passenger to their destination within only a small fraction (10% say) of the alloted time.

Good suggestion, There could be a short list of things the passenger likes to offset some of the strange/difficult requests and a chance to be rewarded instead of the ships that are sent after them as the only type of bonus. I also find that these ship attackers behave much more strangely than typical interdictions. they often pull you out of SC and rabbit as soon as I deploy my SLF, or they spawn right on top of me when dropping into a station then rabbit. Bizarre...

Which makes no sense, unless all these passengers have personal scan detectors; although I suppose they could be built into the cabins. In that case Engineers should have a mode to disable them.

Hi Cmdrs,

Thanks for the replies.

He wasn't concerned regarding a scan, I don't carry those type of passengers.

How do you acknowledge his request?

Hello Arnak,

You are obviously new to Elite : Pacific Princess so here is a good n00b advice. What you need my friend is a friendly environment so your passengers can thrive.

Pictures sometimes convey more than mere words.

You give your passengers that and they'll be happy. I swear. :D

I think the design behind this is a bit stupid really. Do I look like I run a bar on my ship? Can't passengers use the replicator to get booze or just bring it with them before they board?
I'd love to have the option of ejecting passengers though if it looks like they become too demanding...then they'll go sightseeing alright! ;)
