yeah i really want to get back into the game. feels like too long since i played it and with elite basically a non mover in my eyes i think nows the time to do exactly that.

Just a headsup. Kenshi is now at version 1.0
I have been following this for over ten years and it is a great example, love it or hate it, of a game where the final result represents the vision that was expressed at the beginning. It really has not twisted into just another version of every other sandbox rpg out there.
I love it.
Also it runs on linux under proton (as does ED with a few tweaks)
This game reaching 1.0 has restored my faith in... something or other. I had three games that I really hoped would be completed, ED (the kickstarter/DDF version), Rogue system and Kenshi.
Rogue system - development stopped due to a head inujury - enormous tragedy.
ED - well it has turned into what it is, and to be fair, especially lately it seems like development is on track.
Kenshi - actually delivered.
Result.
