Key bind for FSS in menu not working in game.

I was running the game on an ASUS S9 4000 series laptop their tuff book. It ran perfect. I had to send it in for repair. I am now on an HP Omen I7 10th Gen with the Same GPU an Nvidia 2060. On this machine it will run but the key bindings for the fss will not work. I'm not sure about a few other things. I had the FSS bound on ' and it would not let me open the scan screen in game. Someone told me to try docking and switch the bind to another key and see if it gives the warning. So I bound it to B while I was docked. No good no warning. So the game is not accepting the bindings on this laptop for some reason. I tried an external keyboard and the same thing no FSS. This is very frustrating please help. Do you think this game will need a patch to address this? All the drivers and even the flash for the chip set are upto date. SO that is ruled out. Please help.

1. Did you copy your binds from your old machine? Maybe the keyboard mapping is different.

2. Do you have copies of binds files in your binds directory? - This is known to cause changes to control settings not to be saved - keep backups in a separate directory (even renaming the files doesn't help without also editing the name inside the file).

3. Does using the default KB+M preset work? https://edrefcard.info/binds/iykhrv for example

The binds are the same but i tested them and while docked in the station they do not react at all.
I bound the FSS to the B key and hit it while in the dock and did not get any warning at all. I had to take the ASUS in for repair. SO this one is a loaner.
So far its only the FSS that is not working at all. Inside the menu it will show the bind taking but in the game no reaction for that button at all.

FSS only works in supercruise.

Look This is not my first rodeo. I know that it only works in super cruise and 0 throttle. However testing it in the dock showed up there is no warning asking for it. So there is no reaction from the game when you hit the FSS button. I played this on the ASUS machine for a month with no issue. SO.

I hate to ask this, but did you check your firing groups? If you temp change mudules in the ship, it doesn't remembering the firing group settings, and you have to reset them.

If that's also handled locally,(which I'm pretty sure it does, as It's your personal ship) changing PCs would also screw that up.

What I wound up doing is resetting the key sets in the menu to Mouse and keyboard one after that it worked. No idea why it just did. It was really weird. Then I went in changed a couple things and bang it was perfect.

FSS binding works in Horizon but does not work in Odyssey, can someone tell me why? Also where are the key bindings stored on my PC?

odyssey is version 4.0.binds (fairly new release)
horizons is version 3.0.binds
see the bindings guide on how to rename and store bindings...……………... stuck to the top of this pc subforum
