Newcomer / Intro Key Binding Confirmation Window Disappeared

Hi all,

I mistakenly turned off the key binding confirmation message. What this means, is that whenever I override a key and re-purpose it for for something else, I am no longer prompted to confirm and overrides said setting. It's causing a bit of a headache, due to the fact that some keys are rarely used and I forgot what I was using it for originally, only to find out mid-fight that I used it for something else. Inopportune, I tell ya! :D

Anyone know how to turn that back on? I've searched both in the forum, the FAQs and on "the" search engine, but was unsuccessful.

Any help is appreciated!

Thanks,
Advance

Hi, I had the same problem. I accidentally clicked "Always Confirm" when changing a keybinding so from then on it was as you said. I couldn't find any way within the menus to reverse it, unless someone knows how?

This is how I fixed it in my set up, but as usual there are "No promises, no guarantees" it will work for you!

1. Go to to your custom bind : [C]:\Users\[USERNAME[\AppData\Local\Frontier Developments\Elite Dangerous\Options\Bindings\Custom.3.0.binds and copy and paste it somewhere handy, ideally on a USB or backup drive. Do the same with the StartPreset.start file.

2. Then in Controls menu, change the preset (located at the very top) to "Empty" and click apply. Then exit to desktop and reboot.

3. Go back to the Custom3.0.binds file and StartPreset.start files within the Bindings file and delete them, NOT the ones you just backed up somewhere! Copy and paste the backed up files into the Bindings file.

4. Close and restart ED. Go to the Controls menu and do a test rebind with a button you know is already bound to something else. Hopefully the warning message should appear again. If you use a button that's not already assigned, the message doesn't appear anyway.

Any an easier solution would be very welcome!
