Key mapping fails after Gamma 2.0

I have to say sorry for my English to begin with

But i have run into a problem after installing new update.

My Key mapping just went missing even those i never used, default ones.
Some of them partially working, i can turn my head and all that, or rerout power to wep sys or eng but thats about it.
Ive tried to set all back to default, some of the keys comming back in place in menu but in game they still dont do anything.
Well, after few minutes of that i decide to remap whole keyboard back again (im using keyboard + mouse ... yeah i know i know

) but instead of keys im tryn to set its just some wierd cubes showing up in the menu ... i went thru all languages im using on my PC (ridicules but never know) and it didnt work (obviously)

so im stuck on a station and can only look around.
I never change anything in the game or game folder. And i playd yesterday and everything was just fine.

maybe its option file went missing or something? And perhaps i can download from someone?

Again I am waiting for a response. This is the second post I've seen on this issue. No one notices this? No mouse cursor or in-game key commands. Only mouse look and you can't select anything.

I lost my keyboard commands with the new gamma install, but strangely all of my custom joystick and throttle assignments were preserved. So that wasn't difficult to recover from, since I only have a couple of things I am commanding from the keyboard anyway. Still, it certainly is strange ... one would think that the custom HOTAS settings would be the things that would be lost, if anything, and not the default keyboard commands.

Your keys have been unbound. Happened to me too. You'll have to re-bind them. Nothing is happening because the UI menu navigation is also rebound (to nothing).

So go esc, configure controls and rebind all your keys.

Pay particular attention to UI menu up, down, left, right, confirm or you won't be able to navigate the menu to leave the station.

Mine are gone too. My keyboard is useless. The default buttons on my Naga mouse aren't working either though I can pan around with the mouse.

So I have to go back through and map keys to EVERY control that were previously set by the game? I mean they're all gone.

Seems pretty random how much it wiped your controls, all of my mouse bindings were still there including the cursor arrow. But almost all of my keyboard bindings are gone.

I guess it depends how lucky/unlucky you are will ultimately determine how much you have to rebind.

Is there any way to find out what the original key bindings where?

I mean there seem to be 200 keys or something.
I have no idea what I used.

I tried to put in WASD and see if the menu works but it doesn't work.

Can anyone upload their (working) file so we can all just copy it?
Just a standard Keyboard+Mouse setting would be fine to get me started.....

Rebinding didnt get me anywhere....

Holy **** ****s batman this gave me the most unwanted headache!

How about we force enable preflight checklist whenever we decide to wipe controls? Because that way, we will know we're going to get our **** wrekt when we undock and flail around like a shoe in the dryer!

I registered just to say this.

Wow. That's all I got.

p.s. No, I didn't get blown up. I exited the game before the station decided to gun me down for pad loitering.

Just deleted control folder, run launcher and file check up .... its download me a new control folder with same problem.
So its look like some of us just cant enjoy this new update ... atlest yet

I too am experiencing this issue, and no I don't want to go through and re-bind all my fricking keys but I guess if I want to test out Gamma 2.0 then I must.

Hey guys,

we had a discussion on this yesterday. It seems that everyone using a non-english keyboard layout got screwed over with the patch.
Basically you have three options (apart from not playing

)

a) Rebind all keys manually (this is more difficult than it sounds, though)
b) Change your keyboard layout to EN in your operating system before playing and back after
c) This is what worked for me:

- open C:\Users\Your_User_Name\AppData\Local\Frontier Developments\Elite Dangerous\Options\Bindings\custom.binds
- copy the first line after "<Root>" (for me with a german keyboard this was "<KeyboardLayout>de-DE</KeyboardLayout>")
- open C:\Users\Your_User_Name\AppData\Local\Frontier_Developments\Products\FORC-FDEV-D-1003\ControlSchemes\KeyboardMouseOnly.binds
- insert the previously copied line after "<Root>"
- start the game and select "Keyboard and Mouse" under the control options

Nah, I lost a lot of my key-binds. Everything from UI nav to throttle control. It's a pain in the neck, but it only takes a few minutes to re-bind in the menus. I've got a US keyboard, but also a Logitech G13 which might have done it, too.

Ho hum! Two minutes of grumbling and I'm back in the black.

it was quite frustrating coming in keen as and then nothing....it felt like my keyboard wasnt working, apart ESC. Had to rebind everything which was quite annoying. But apart from that, its an awesome update. New rep system is great, and the graphics have improve quite a bit. Love it.

But it sucked

The mappings are stored locally, see my post on the previous page for paths to the config files. As for an easily readable list: I don't know of any, sorry. You might be able to read the content of the default config file though (see attached file).

I had a peep here having the same problem. Good call on the keyboard layout line in the bindings files, J Lee. Never would have thought of that. Any idea what caused the problem ? Could the language option "use system default" in the launcher be involved ?
