Keyboard only

Hi guys,

Having some trouble doing keyboard only as in the olden days on my C64.
For some reason i cannot control the cockpit panels (1 & 3) at all. Mucked around a bit with the settings but have gotten nowhere so far.
Surely it should be as simple as punching up 3 for example and then using the cursor & enter ?

Any help welcome, but please don't tell me to use mouse/joystick, I have no interest in those at the moment.
