Keyboard Yaw, Pitch and Roll speed

I'm posting this because I am trying to increase my keyboard yaw speed in the single player game and I can not figure it out. I am happy with the speed of the keyboard pitch and am only trying to make my yaw have the same speed. Right now my yaw is much slower to turn than the pitch. Is this possible yet and if so, how do I solve my problem? Thanks all!

This is by design, we want more pitch and roll styling for more fluid combat and maneuvering rather.

So roll on one stick, pitch on the other, or or all on the same stick?

At the minute I got.

............thrust up..........................pitch down
................./\......................................../\
..................|........................................|
Roll left <- L -> Roll right.......yaw left< -R ->yaw right
..................|........................................|
.................\/........................................\/
...........thrust down.........................pitch up

I'm not sure if there is a flaw to this, or if its possible to work. Its very hard to get used to thats for sure.

It might be nice to have some kind of default to work off instead of mapping the entire controls from scratch.

Hi ste, I tried exactly the method you have above. It could be quite powerful, but is very difficult to get the hang of. At the moment I am playing with a setup like you have there, but with thrust and yaw completely removed, at least until I am more comfortable. Haven't really missed thrust and yaw since I unbound them, still I might turn them back on at some point.

I do like to have the pitch and roll on different sticks tho, must tie into some ancient muscle-memory from the BBC B when we used S, X, <, > keys.

I'm starting to think this might be the game that persuades me to get a HOTAS though.

That was my thoughts, I didnt have a yaw in the original. So maybe I could happily live without them now, except I think you might need it for landing on a space station.

The original I used good old QAOP on keyboard but I dunno whats for the best now, I'm still trying different setups.

I remember I bought a joystick especially for that X game, and I didnt like it and ended up using keyboard.

I would like to be able to use the DS4 as I think they are generally better than big sticks.

Its basically trial and error at this point.

Maybe like Michael said, the best bet is to map it to the dpad.

But the good thing about my set up it is possible to roll, pitch and yaw at the same time, could be good for evading fire and tight movering once the hang of it is... erm, achieved. :)

Vertical Thrust, plus pitch, plus roll, plus yaw can make your turning circle much sharper I imagine.

I have my DS3 setup with left stick as roll and pitch, right as thrusters, ie up down left and right.

I have nothing on my DS3 set to yaw, although I do use "yaw on initial roll" which is enough for a little aim correction.

I do use the keyboard for yaw when landing, but won't later in alpha 4 when we can setup a different controller profile when the landing gear is down, then I'll probably swap the primary and secondory fire buttons for yaw. (L1 + R1)

Oh and I definitely hold my own with it vs others.
