Way to dredge up ancient history
The answer is simple, it was in direct violation of the EULA as to how it was acquiring the data. Frontier asked them to stop, they refused. They were later asked again, and they did. As has been pointed out there are alternatives available through the Players Tools subforum.
I'm going to close this thread because Frontier's stance hasn't changed.
