Kick pilot from galactic map when attacked, not when explode.

Not sure what the logic is here, but wouldn't it make sense to kick the pilot from the galactic map at first hostile contact rather than just before catastrophic failure? I mean, were reading a map. It isn't all to unrealistic that a shot to the stern fail to go unnoticed?

Same when you've hit ESC and fiddling with Options or Friend Management screens. I'm sure I've been kicked out of the GalMap before though, could have been the System Map. But I agree, I'd have thought all the warning sirens and the pew pew against the shields would wake any CMDR with a jolt. Devs ?

Whilst we are at it. Car makers, we need more warnings of an impending crash. How else am I supposed to read a map, book or newspaper whilst driving?

If you are going to hop in to the galaxy map, make sure there isn't anything around for 100 km.

Not only when being attacked, but couldnt we have the distance countdown to target in the galaxy map as well, I have overshot many times thinking I had enough time, a simple counter in the corner would do. I do get carried away at the galaxy map and system map.....lol

To be fair, you get pulled out of the map when you are being interdicted.
Advise: Do your map routings in SC, that way you will never have any trouble. And it won't break immersion. (Or do it in the station)

I would love that, would help to do something useful in those mindnumbingly boring long SC other than internet surfin.

Poor comparison.

Better comparison: It's like the car companies have desinged a new sat nav that turns you completely comatose while it interfaces with your brain. Poor design if you ask me.
