kicked for 350 million creds

so mining eh?.. did loads of it and got myself 400 painite. yay gratz. ramdom d/c logged in and got slaughtered by the magic pirates that spawn. now you may be saying that I should know better and all that. but it took me an entire afternoon to mine that stuff and to have it maigiced away (together with my type 9) is a er in the extreme. I tried to run away (not scanned) and all they did was follow for 15 minutes give me a hope in hell of getting away please before your bots decide that I've had way too much fun mining and need to get f &*ked and go away without the three hundred million plus I had mined. way to go I really am enamoured with the idea of re doing all that mining for craps sake.

Had a bit of trouble following this...

So you got disconnected while in the ring, then logged back in which prompted the pirates to spawn. ✅

Yeah, not a nice position to be in, especially in a T9. You tried to run away. Good choice.

The pirates won’t ever give up trying to scan you once you’re on their radar.

You needed to high wake (jump to another system). If you were running away for 15 minutes then you did have more than enough time to do this.

@Cheesefodder - Well at least you got to whine about it on a completely irrelevant forum section in the hope that it won't scroll off the page too quick.

Honestly, if you don't know to high-wake instead of running for 15 minutes then there is no hope for you. (Is that saying "git gud" or is it rather saying "get smart"?)

Yay thanks for the heads up to 'Git Gud' . Although I got this game years ago I had totally forgotten about it 'til last month. So I started to play again. Thanks to your marvellous insight to 'high-wake' (no idea as been playing a short time and am not Gud yet) as for smart,,, well that's purely subjective. Thank you though for the insight to the sort of person I look forward to meeting in the community of Elite Dangerous. (sorry if this came across as whining my friend it was meant to be a polemic on your inability to hold discourse without lowering yourself to insults) have fun and please never stop trying to 'Get Gud' at life. :)

Or just give them what they wanted - they don't want much usually.
That actually works?
Never tried myself, far too greedy to drop cargo to some random NPC.
But i can see where the OP is coming from. If you have an under powered ship design then it does not take long for NPC pirates to catch up, blast off your shields and rip a huge hole in the side of your ship. The Type 9 is a slow moving beast and running with her is not always the best option.
Time to put a pair of chaff launchers on her so you can constantly spam them while spooling up the Frame shift drive.

...........

LOL - well as a response to someone who creates a forum account just to have a rant about getting destroyed I thought I was quite mild. ;)

You will find a great deal of friendly willing advice from people (including me) on these fora but just bleating about the game won't get much sympathy.

Good luck and ask away in the newcomer's sub-forum.

P.S. I don't actually like the "git gud" responses you will see on here - that is why I qualified what I was referring to.

Yup - did that when I was doing the 500T for the engineer (as you only need to mine it, not hand it in). When pirates asked for stuff I dropped it, they happily scooted around picking it up and headed off.
Hum, might try that next time im mining. Submit to the demand and drop a few void opals (wonder if they want limpets?) but let them pick them up then turn around and demand them back by punching a hole in their cargo bay. Who knows might come out with more then i offered. (reverse pirate)
