Kicked out of Sol

Well, this sucks. I was working on restore missions in Sol. I got killed in a ground battle, booted back to respawn and bam, I can't go back to Sol to turn in my missions or to finish the ones I picked up earlier that I was working on. FDev picked THE most inopportune time to repeal all the emergency SOL permits.

That sucks. It probably should have been turned off yesterday, so did you get some extra anyway and only lose the last load?

I totally feel ya on this frustration, but honestly getting the permit permanently just isn't a difficult grind. Find a system with tons of federal factions and stack data courier missions and always pick the reputation reward. Hopefully this can get you back in before your current missions time out. In any case, you will need a rank of Midshipman to attain access to one of the engineers (The Sarge), and the permit for Sol is just one more rank beyond at Petty Officer.

I didn't know they had rescinded the permit. I obviously failed the last mission. Since I'm in good with the feds anyway it didn't take me long to earn the permit, just sucks that I had to go through it for the missions I had.

It would have been nice if there had been a days notice for when the permit was going to expire.

That said the people to blame are the AX groups and hauling repair groups, if they had paced themselves better you would have had longer.

I disagree. It wouldn't matter when Frontier rescinded the permit, there would still be someone who got caught out like the OP did.
Ultimately the OP (or anyone) should have realised the access was temporary because of the titan attacking, and not assumed they would be able to stay in Sol.
The solution is, to rank up with the Feds as quickly as you can.
I apologise if this comment seems blunt or heartless, but this is the result of the OP not being aware of what was happening. There is no-one else to blame, and the OP (or any of us) should be more aware in future. Lesson learned, as they say.

No, I don't think it was the AX pilots fault. I got in on some of that action to get the pre-engineered FSD's. Glad to have them.

Yes, I was unaware that my permit had expired. How many players actually regularly check what permits they have? The nice thing would have been, like when they issued the permit and sent out a system wide 'message' to have done the same when it was being removed. No such message was sent. FYI, I don't think you were being blunt or rude.

Yes, it is easy to rank up Fed to get the Sol permit. I did just that as one of my earlier posts said.

Different people play the game in different ways. When I played FEII and FFE there were 3 permits to get: Ross 189, Van Maanen's Star and YZ Canis Minoris (it might have been Majoris, I can't remember). Each time I replayed it, the first thing I did was get those permits. When I started Elite Dangerous, and I found out there were permits to get, I made it the first task to get all those permits. I don't check them very often, if ever, but I also don't have to wonder about a temporary Sol permit as I already have the full permit.

I don't blame you for not realising, as I said, we all play the game in different ways.
