Kickstarter Games

I have had a pretty good run on Kickstarter so far with no disappointing pledges. I discovered Kickstarter late last year and have enjoyed browsing it many times since.

7 Days to Die - Fantastic alpha so far. Great fun to play with friends over Mumble. The developers release significant updates very often and the game keeps getting better.

Epic Space Online - I find this a nice peaceful game to play. It has a lot to do but can be pretty slow paced due to the vast distances involved. I don't play it much due having other alternatives which I want to play more but I would like to get into again, especially as they have released some of the capital ships.

Rimworld - This game is a lot of fun and very functional even in alpha. It is the project of a single guy but he has great vision and knows what he is doing. This is going to be a very popular game when finished. Unfortunately it is only single player and, as I prefer multiplayer, I don't play it as much as other games I have.

Planets³ - This game looks like it has a lot of potential. Alpha has not been released yet so time will tell. The concept is very appealing.

Universim - This projects kickstarter just launched but their pitch sold it for me. Managed to get the $10 early bird. While the alpha would probably be interesting I have to many other alphas/betas already and thus I think will just wait till it comes on steam.

Let's hear other people's Kickstarter stories?

I've now backed 14 projects in total on Kickstarter and only one has really dissapointed so far and that's Godus. Still time for that to be pulled round but I have severe concerns about it.

I won't bore you with all the games I've backed but here's a selection of ones that perhaps folk won't have heard of:

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects.../popup-dungeon
Popup Dungeon looks fantastic, very stylish graphics and a fast paced RPG. You can still back this on Kickstarter.

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1206403106/chaos-reborn-from-the-creator-of-the-original-x-co
I'm too young to remember the original but this is brilliant. There's a playable prototype at the moment but the finished article is going to look far better and have real depth. Turn based wizard like action ahoy!

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/409030043/warmachine-tactics
Turn based combat game set in the Warmachine world. Giant steaming mechs in a steampunk type setting, what's not to like.

This looks amazing and has the gameplay to match. If you like classic first person RPG's this is worth a serious look.

I backed 15 games

A few of the more promising ones

Looks like it will be great if they pull it off

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1473965863/sui-generis
Really impressive looking RPG for a small team on a tight budget, has released a combat alpha build now but I didn't back at that level. They are keeping the story stuff very quiet though to avoid spoilers

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1499900830/sir-you-are-being-hunted
Has a feature complete beta out now, plays very well.

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/inxile/torment-tides-of-numenera Backed this one at a tier which gets me a copy of wasteland 2 as well.

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/obsidian/project-eternity Probably my second most anticipated after elite, looks fantastic so far, nothing playable out yet though.

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2079547763/jagged-alliance-flashback Always been a jagged alliance fan, I have high hopes for this one, has an alpha out now which is pretty well received, nut I didn't back high enough to get alpha access.

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/5livesstudios/satellite-reign Syndicate wars!!

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1294225970/kingdom-come-deliverance With what I have seen, and the devs track record, this could be something special...

Also there are 2 space games I backed.......

<sigh>... hopefully there should be an Outcast Reboot Reboot.
I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror, and were suddenly silenced. I fear something terrible has happened.

I had a look at this one but didn't back, I did put a reminder on it though. They were asking for an awful lot of money and it was clear by the middle of the KS it just wasn't going to get anywhere near the total.

Ideed. I didn't see it until it was posted here. By then it was clearly going to need divine intervention.

But I love the original so much. A beautiful game.

1st World Problems

In the middle of all this Elite loveliness the Wasteland 2 beta has dropped into my lap. Gahhh! All this great stuff to play and read, all at the same time!

At least I'll have something to do whilst waiting for PB2 to load. :D

I bought this the other day on the steam summer sale.

I quite like it actually, although I am going to start over at a higher difficulty level as it seems way to easy.

It feels a bit like Baldurs gate, but in a mad max world.

It definitely needs some finishing touches though, looking forward to seeing the end product.
