Kill 2 Bounty Hunters missions..

I'm a bit confused here and I'm no stranger to ED so I must be missing something here.

Where do I find these guys ? I've been in WSS's, USS's and even chanced my arm in a SSS.
Been to the Nav Beacon too. Plenty of pirates in these place but how do I identify or tell the difference between them and bounty hunters ?
I've KW Scanned them and taken out ships that are carrying Kill Warrant Scanners. The target count does not go down.

Don't tell me I have to shoot a clean ship, then take out ships that fire on me

That would be silly.

Any help before the time runs out ?

Only thing I can think off hand is wait in a RES or Nav beacon for ships to attack pirates that aren't system security vessels. More than likely you're attacking clean ships.

Other than that I have no clue.

No RES's in Nu though. But yeah I'd be attacking clean ships. I suppose I can risk trying it on one.

EDIT: Well taking out a ship that's firing on a Wanted ship in the Nav Beacon didn't work either

I just murdered an innocent.

Maybe I should ask a simpler question cos someone must know the answer

When people get these missions, where do you go to find these bounty hunters and how do you differentiate them from pirates ?

ok so not really a simpler question but I am surprised that no-one has a solid answer yet as these missions are so commonplace.

The answer is it's broken. Wait for the patch. FD may fix the thinly laid out broken USS only mission system.

You can identify NPC bounty hunters because they will almost always have a Kill Warrant Scanner equipped.

I quite doing those 'illegal' assassination missions.... most times the reward is less than the crimes committed. Only assassinate terrorists for legal bounty right now.

Yup, 1.3 will be improving the mission system. And for some, like this one, actually make them worth playing.

I thought you find bounty hunters by going to a NAV and waiting for guy to scan you...when he says "you're clean, proceed", but he's not a system authority, he's a BH, and that's your target. You still get a fine tho.

It says "Mission Target" when you target a bounty hunter ship, the same for all mission targets, there are loads in NAV signal areas and USS should also spawn some for you. I found them straight away, loads in Nav.

What I'm not sure about is if some bounty hunters are also wanted, otherwise I'll have yet another bounty on my head.

Get a small bounty on your head and go to a NAV point. Anyone who tries to engage you must be a BH.
