CQC Kill death Ratio ?

What is considered to be normal or average Kill death Ratio ?
I have about 1.4, there are some with 2.5 and more and their
fighters are often ridiculously hard to kill, I cant help to wonder
if they are using shield hack or something else.

Statistically average is 1.0... I think anything over 1.5 is good.

But I wouldn't care about it much, it's only numbers. Many experienced lower KDR players are better than me or give me really hard time.

EDIT: As for KDR 2.5+ and you wonder if we use hacks.. No, we use PUs, pip management and use chaffs/silent running etc. when it's the best time for them to be used I suppose.

I would say any decent player will have over 1.0, with how much over 1.0 depending a lot more on who their opponents are than on precisely how good they are.

There are not many players who can consistently maintain even a 2.0 K/D in a mostly-veterans match ... there are a lot of players who'd struggle to keep 1.0 in that environment who could easily go 6.0 or better if up against beginners.

As far as shield hacks go ... it's possible, but I'm pretty sure it's not what you're seeing. I think I've seen maybe one case of that in 2 years of playing. Good pips control, FA-off flight, and well-timed use of countermeasures makes the top pilots extremely difficult to kill in a 1v1 fight, but they die the same as everyone else if you can land your shots or if they get focused.

KDR means very little. Mine is fairly obnoxiously high (somewhere in the 8:1 range), but there are lots of players with lower KDR who are better pilots. My KDR is leftover from when there were more novice-to-moderate pilots and fewer aces. These days there are almost no games to be had, but when I do get them 2-7 of the players involved are top-shelf and I'm lucky to kill more than I die. :)

I mostly just try to be the last guy in the line of guys shooting the ones in front of them...and those other things you mention.

Oh I like looking at my KDR improving.

Think I have 3 hours in CQC this reset of character. It was shockingly low for a time around the 0.33. Clawed it back to 0.62.

There are some very good pilots in CQC. I sometimes have trouble locking an enemy, I am guessing that is silent running in operation.

I had first few games in about a year the other night and had loads of fun. I found I'm incredibly inconsistent, lowest was 3/5 and highest was 8/0. I haven't seen anyone I've considered might be cheating, just folks who understand the current weapon and component balance and capitalise.

My k/d went down to 0.3 after I forgot to log off before leaving my place during a whole weekend. This happened during the early days when CQC had players all the time. I was killed over and over doing nothing during 48h straight. I'm still trying to recover from that :)

When it happened, I was quite shocked : 48 hours of inactivity and the game did not kicked me out! Not sure this would be possible today but even if the devs did not fix it, I seriously doubt there would be enough matches anyway.

Did you get a lot of XP from that? :p

I almost reached professional, unfortunately I don't remember the rank I had on the Friday night. AFAIK, it was a possible way to grind passively but a tremendously slow one.

Of course, nowadays, broken lobbies and the low population would make it particularly inefficient. A shame really, I'd love to farm a few inactive CMDRs instead of chasing you all around the map knowing you'll probably blast me out of the sky if I'm unfortunate enough to finally find you :D

Oh from my perspective I always have to watch my back when you're around :D
And you killed me so many times I lost the count, surely must be 3 digit figure now :p

Yeah K/D ratio means very little in CQC, and if I am in the game and you have a > 1 K/D you are my target since I try not to squish the noobs too much. Nowadays is much harder to keep decent K/D ratio, but if you properly farm noobs its not really hard to get > 5:1

0.6 at the moment and heading for 0.5 - which is just fine by me :) Statistics in CQC are only serious if you take them seriously - and I don't :)

At some point in the past it looks as though some statistics were lost. I'm certain that I managed to get involved in a couple of "Capture The Flag" games in the early days but according to the stats I've never taken part.
