Kill Pirate Lord missions rebalanced

I noticed this starting in December, Kill Pirate Lord missions fetch an extra 2 mil cr. The old reward was around 2.5 million for elite rank, now the same mission fetches around 4.5 million. Nothing about the mission itself has changed, just a rebalance of the payout. Massacre mission rewards have not changed.

Bounties are paying ~4x, pretty sure massacre missions did go up some as well, along with combat bonds and missions.

You can spend an evening running around shooting stuff and notice a difference in your credit balance now, a welcome change.

I forgot to mention the bounties, yes huge increase there, I thought it was more like 10x for bounties, but I'll take your 4x estimate.

Notices:
the combat bonds wre older 2 millions cyclops kills (3x), minus the crew wage
the time needed to do those missions was well under 2h. I'd say something like 1-1.5h at most. Hard to say because i was multicrewing my steam and epic accounts and i was getting purple cobra/python errors on almost every drop from supercruise to mission uss. (yes, yesterday multicrew was atrocious, couple days before it was perfect)

all the mission targets were more or less paperplanes - threat 3 mission uss certainly were, threat 4 were so-and-so, but still they qualified as paper planes.

The biggest payout I've seen recently is for a "wet work" mission that was paying Cr45m.

Pretty sure it was one of those "go and kill a bunch of people flying Belugas and Orcas" missions, though - the ones where they make you fly 20kls to a POI, where you can explode 3 or 4 ships and the rest flee to a new POI on the opposite side of the system.
Rinse & repeat.

I gave it a miss

Anyway, sod the credits.
I found a system where all the factions are willing to pay for all the missions in EFCs, BCs & MEF.
I like that place a lot. :p

I never did these for the CR, it was always for the mats, SLF training and testing new ship/wep setups.

Recent combat payout buff also affected all sorts combat related missions as well. Wich is good thing, since some trade missions got nerfed at same time, but thats "rebalance" for ya.

Assasination missions pays even better (Anarchy fraction issued "gank politican/general") that are up to 7,5m in my home system, usual "pirate lord gank" are up to 5,5m with 3-4m being average. Extra 1-2 million from bounties as well.

Seen also massacre missions that are capped with 50m limit, wich was never before that high. Anarchy fractions missions "wetwork" or "civil massacre" are ones that usualy got capped like that, but seen also pirate massacre that reached 50m limit too, for killing like 70+ pirates, wich might be worthwhile for doing it now, as each of these takes few hrs to complete, and overall pay can be over 100m with bounties claimed. And I dare to say, I rather go hunt pirates npcs than go mine rocks or trade.

Before that change I used to to grab such missions for mats, but ever since I got full inventory of almost all g5 mats from these missions, I take creds now over mats, since it does atleast pays somewhat decent... since I am not greed and never was, but payouts now are best ever was, and it finnaly it can make worthwhile credits related, instead doing missions for mats only. As veteran combat player I found this is good now. Not ridiculusly high like mining was, but also not too low where someone might consider it not worth thier time.

Shame that entire combat payouts rebalance fogots about one preety niche thing... PVP bounties... that 2m cap is relic from old times, and it should be upped to atleast 10m, so it would make PVP bounty hunting a thing again... since nowadays, most of newer cmdr wont dare to risk rebuy going after high bounty cmdrs, since is almost certain that anyone who aint is PVP veteran, will have hard time to ever claim bounty from cmdrs who ganks everyday, lol.

I haven't confirmed this myself but the 2m cap is per system. Which means if you scan the perp with a KWS the total bounty you get on a single baddie can be in the 10s of millions CR.

Yes, but thats still too low... few days ago Ive seen a vid where someone had 100m+ total bounties, and when got killed, in end what gained cmdr who killed him? Only 10m, wich was certainly worth more, for getting kill like that. I wont name who did it, but its on youtub.

Not mention that prep really needs have tons of bounties on them and being scanned by KWS, so then anyone who manage kill it, still they will get a scraps instead, and if it where me, I would feel like that is not enough for my effort.

I agree the cap should be upped to account for CR inflation.

Fogot to mention that some preps aint gonna have multiple bounties on them, as some limits where they are wanted onto one or two systems.... but still they can be quite high (especially cutters or vette preps)

Wetwork, or Spec Ops? Wetwork are illegal assassinations, Spec Ops are illegal massacres.

This was wet work.
Like I said, in my experience they tend to involve chasing a fleet of Belugas and Orca from one POI to the next, until you've exploded something like 20 of them.
Thing that irritates me is that they (admittedly, quite justifiably) all try to flee when you show up so you have about 30 seconds to whack as many as possible before they all vanish, and then you have to schlepp to the next POI and do it all again.
Usually good pay and lots of mat's, but the flying from POI to POI (usually on opposite sides of the system) is a PITA.

Not entirely sure I've ever done a Spec Ops mission.
Do they require you to do stuff like scan a surface datapoint to get the target's location?
If so, I've always thought that was too much of a faff, so I give them a miss.
