kill stealing

Combat bond? As in you get paid to kill someone as a group of assassins? I remember there was combat bond in the alpha but there was no splitting of cash.
 
Combat Bond is the generic term for the current Distress Call and Conflict Zone scenarios, i.e. two factions at war.
 
Gotta say that the kill 'stealing' is quite depressing for new pilots. You eventually find a target that you can kill, take 15 minutes whittling down his hull to 30% before another pilot arrives in the system and takes him out with their superior firepower. Almost as bad as the 0 credits is the 0 kills showing on your commander status screen :(

And I was sure I got the last hit on that last Sidewinder...

Oh well, I'll put the early part of the game down as a trading game (which tbh, I'm enjoying) and wait until I've got a Cobra for some combat jollies.
 
People just need to communicate more.

I have made a small fortune in combat, with 350+ kills to my name so far. Kill stealing has not been an issue as I do my best to coordinate people and not jump on the same target.

I tend to watch other players, and keep an idea of their position. I always go for the target trailing my teammates, and let them know I am doing so. I often ask a player to turn into me to help me get the bandit off their tail, and many respond in kind if you ask for assistance.

If a player takes your kill, ask them not to. I have got nothing but positive responses from other commanders when I do this. I have come across only one commander who acted selfishly, and he soon regretted it. I didn't turn bandit it on him, I just beat him to the punch repeatedly until he got the message.
 
I was t'ked by one muppet because they thought I was kill stealing. Unfortunately, after I refitted and headed back out there, they soon found out the hard way how wrong they were, especially in a war zone. ;)

The Kill Stealing by the Feds is sooo aggravating...

Ive been flying around for hours in a nav point trying to make money to get a better ship then the side winder and iam doing the majority of the damage to all the wanted ship but the feds keep getting the kill. Ive lost over 500 thousand dollars in bounty to the feds.
 
Bounty Kill stealing

I'm utterly frustrated with killstealing now, mostly because recently i was hunting wanted anacondas for bounties, took all the shields off, did 98% - 99% damage, but a eagle scum stole the kill, and that happened like 4 times, i lost about 500k credits. (Also the same with conflict zones)
Hunting another anaconda i got the final kill, but the eagle hit me twice, he had a 400 bounty on him and as i was raging as hell, i happily killed him. So he lost his 500k bounties, he deserved it.
All i'm trying to say is, the devs should add like an 'assist' bounty, so you just don't sit there with nothing.
 
I had 2 pulse lasers and over 10000 credits and thats slowly going down because I keep dying every 10th encounter or so....It wouldnt matter if I got credit for all my kills in the low conflict zone but I do the hard work and 7 times out of 8 some [redacted] comes along and gets the last shot in...Its [redacted] hard to make money when theyre equipped with beam weapons which hit continuously and i've got pulse lasers that hit only twice a second...Making money is hard...and I havnt even tried trading yet but thats only viable in a cobra really.

If this bugs you so much go play in solo till you improve your lot in the game. Making money is not hard unless you make it so. If I don't make at least 100k in an hour killing npc's in USS and nav points it's only my fault.
And trading is "viable" in a Adder. View the youtube for trading, combat and exploration advice.
 
Hopefully when wings gets added we can share in the profits of bounty hunting together. Until then either be quicker on the trigger or play in solo mode.
 
Perhaps people should be more aware of what's around them when going for that last attack run, can't blame someone trying to profit on someone's misfortune and someone else's hard work. Also don't try and finish off a kill unless you know your weapon group won't run out of juice.
