Kill x authority vessels hurt reputation ?

Hi there!

Every once in a while I see a kill x authority vessels mission given by a faction which belongs to the federation.
I too have a friendly reputation with this faction and the federation. Will it mean if I do this kind of missions that my reputation is hurt with the federation, since I have to kill authority vessels which belong to the federation ?

Or do I just need to go to a system where the federation isn't the system authority ?

It will hurt you if you go murdering security forces. YOu will eventually become hostile and not able to fly safely in Federation space - assume you have become a terrorist.
