Killed by a cheater?

Playing in open usually. I am the Hudson supporter. In A-rated Python, absolutely everything is A - except weapons. Commander which is enemy and in our space attacks me in Clipper - jumps over to a pirate USS I followed (had a mission to kill some pirates). He appears almost right in front of me so I open fire almost immediately. His shields goes half-way down. He shoots and tries to ram me. My shield is almost down but I manage to hit SCB a couple of times. Finally I bring his shield down (have 5 lasers on Python) and his hull falls to some 90-ties. However, after that, magically, his shield is UP. I can't believe my eyes. He shoots me, rams me a couple of more times and I am dead.

What was that? Am I seeing things? ... It's not about 8M insurance money I've lost (but those are money anyway), but about the understanding. Cheater?

Unfortunately he had some long name so I couldn't remember.

your kill / death history is logged. It wouldn't be the first instance of cheaters manipulating timers to augment cool down times or regen rates since these things dont require syncing back to FD's server and are pretty hard to spot but very effective when used.

Something as important as shields dropping should be something that is tracked on your remote save game. This would make manipulating the timer controlling the rate of regen or magically regenning extremely visible to FD.

I am absolutely calm - I have no money shortage. However, face-to-face, Python vs Clipper, rams, etc - Clipper should have no chance, no matter what weapons-armor he has.

Sounds like a P2P issue (as in it's easier to cheat when using P2P instead of client/server) I could well be wrong tho, just a guess.

That is not true. The Clipper is much faster and more agile than the Python (don't believe the official agility rating, fly both). With the right setup and a skilled pilot, it is quite possible for a Clipper to kill a Python. I am suspicious of the instant shield recovery, though.

Face-to-face, ramming. No flying, no maneuvers. No chance.

May be lag as others have pointed out. If it is a cheat, then his kill doesn't count in my book. Sad little people who need to grow a pair & play properly imo.

If the target's shields don't go down and you NEVER see them fire a SCB, report it. Maybe FDev will do something .

This is like trying to play a game of Rust or DayZ.

Every online game is a cheat fest. It's just the way kids were raised to believe cheating is ok. FD can't fix the player base. Good luck.

You can use lot's of programs - I use FRAPS. I have it running in the background and have a hotkey set to record video. I'm still not good about it, but it's nice to have if you suspect cheating and can capture the video.

FWIW - when I've suspected cheaters against me in PvP (twice), when I reviewed the video I realized I was wrong and had missed something.

He is cheating report him. Google the cheats for this game it is very easy. Almost makes me want to leave open and play elite solo.

Had a clipper ram me pre 1.3. I didnt have 4 pips to shields he did and knew how to pvp. My shields failed so a clipper is very good at ramming despite that everyone thinks the python had better shields.

The shields coming back on line so quickly could be lag but let fd investigate.

Was it in Nanomam on Monday? As I killed a python in that system on Monday that matches your description( had all lasers), I wasn't experiencing any lag as far as I can remember

I dropped into a low wake and appeared behind him, took out his drives, I don't remember ramming him to death though
