Way back in beta I tried to kill anacondas before but always ended up being destroyed or having my canopy blown out by the beam turrets they all seemed to use. So after a few failed attempts I stayed away from hunting them.
I am now in a Cobra MKIII which I am happy about flying with all the upgrades installed I like to fly with for this ship. It is a swiss army knife set up can run courier and small trade missions, haul 16 tonnes of cargo when things are slow and also explore solar systems with detailed scanners. It works for me and I find that using the shield cell banks in the spirit they are meant to be used for ( as in only one cell bank is installed.) that combat is still a challenge.
So while exploring a anarchy system I decided to do some bounty hunting and stopped off at a asteroid belt, I take no faction hits here and I get to use the kill warrant scanner before I engage. Carrying no cargo the npc pirates scan me but leave me alone. This lets me pick and choose my fights easier and with care.
In the video below I am confident in my abilities as a pilot and my ships capabilities in combat so I try once more for a anaconda npc pirate. By the end of the video my palms are sweating and I am shaking all over but feeling elated at actually winning the battle through careful use of my shield cells and using the environment to my advantage.

I know this is kind of thing is old hat to some players. For me though it speaks volumes about how my skills have improved and what my ship can actually do.
