I just had a great fight with a python.
It was a close call but I only just lost in my cobra.

If it says "You were killed by august merryweather" does this mean i was killed by a real player?

Or does it also say that message if youre ever killed by npc's too?

Either way it was a very enjoyable fight.

Pythons are very maneoverable!!!

It means you were unlucky enough to lose a combat, rather than being inattentive/stupid enough to crash into a stationary object like a wall!! :D

Tried taking on an anaconda who was ranked deadly with my Asp. His multi cannons seem to be able to fire in all directions :)

I managed to get him to 4% but he took out my last 24% in one go as he was flying away from me.

Next time I shall have my revenge. 560k insurance and 700k lost in cargo but the fight was so exciting it was worth all the loss :)

I find chaff is quite helpful in dealing with higher rated big ships with turrets. Sometimes you get their gun side pointed at you and their turrets will arc to your vector. Chaff will help you make that attack run without getting too many direct hits. Also, you can take out those guns if you target them as sub target...take out the highest damage turrets first, then FSD, then death

My Viper vs. Python battle was interesting. During the fight, Python took out my canopy and the 5 min countdown started. I finished it off with about 3 min left, but had a 12,000+ Ls SC to the nearest outpost so I suffocated. Thing is, I got the 20K+ bounty anyway (after I re-purchased my ship). Was a little surprised as I thought you lost bounties that had not been turned in when you were destroyed. Had two other smaller bounties carry over as well.
