Killing federation fighter, too easy?

I'm in my viper (oh man I love that machine) with 2 simple class 1 gimbled pulse lasers, I am making stupid amounts of money at Eranin 2 (the distress beacon) by siding with Eranin and popping loads of federation fighters. I am in no way a particularly good pilot but it just seems to easy to kill the never ending supply of these things earning 350 credits a time :D

Not complaining though, it's fun to do, they are NPCs so no guilt feelings, I get to listen to the incredible sound from the viper as well, just a nice easy way to earn lots of cash for those wanting to do so :D

I find I make much more money on the Fed side. If I join Eranin the feds are quickly wiped out and I find myself waiting for them to respawn. On the Fed side there are far more Eranin ships. I don't generally leave the area until I have over 100 vouchers.

I think that's the point of Eranin 2 federal distress beacon, to help new people rack up some money. Still 350 creds/kill wouldn't count for "stupid amount" unless you spend a few hours doing just that :)

I struggle with them myself but if I was in a Viper I'm sure it would be much easier. My Eagle was taken out by a player pirate in an Viper in 2 hits the other night. Was not fun but I guess it's just how the ship is and how you use it.

Well yeah 350 a pop and it only takes a few seconds/ hits to down each ship. A viper with 2 gimballed lasers does this very easily and those 350 credits soon mount up...

I always imagine a virtual tear rolling down the cheek of a Federation mother when she hears that her son or daughter has been selected to fly in a Federation Fighter squadron. The life expectancy of your average Federation Fighter pilot is so so small.

Why do NPCs get in those things? Have they no will for self-preservation?

They are manned purely by insanely patriotic individuals that have strong suicidal tendencies.

How else do you explain the number of ramming incidents?

Quick & stupid question, do you have to do anything special to start earning these vouchers? I was over there a couple days ago blasting Eranin fighters, but don't recall getting anything for it.

Assuming you chose the Federation faction before starting to kill them, you should have got a message each time you kill one about a 350 credit bounty. These will also show up on the Missions tab of the left UI panel.

You need to go to a Federation station and select Contacts, Local Security Office to cash them in. You lose them if your ship gets destroyed, by the way (as I've found to my cost, repeatedly, following accidental collisions!)

Choose a faction to fight for; it's in the right hand panel under 'functions'. You will be credited in vouchers upon killing enemy fighters. Head to the residence of your employer (Eranin defence force->Eranin, Federation->any fed system), find a station, then cash your vouchers in for credits in the contacts menu.

Don't tell the Imperials, but the secret is that the Fed Fighters are unmanned and controlled by a pilot on the battlecruiser;)

Pfft! Another example of the two-faced dynamic so prevalent in Federal culture.

Shh! Don't tell anybody, but the Federal politicians are secretly controlled by the corporations.
:p

I had no idea you had to cash these in, I presumed it was automatically added to your balance. Maybe now I'll be able to make a profit!
